Upgraded But Want To Ask About It.

So i recently purchased an actual grow light, 300 watts LED, But i dont know the distance i should have it hanging from my plants once they sprout. I heard someone put them too clise and their plants shiveled up and died, so i want to prevent that from happening to mine. Also i will be using a tent with this light once it arrives which shoukd be the 18th.
