Do you have a source for that claim?
You get pneumonia or worse which indirectly leads to a collapsed lung. Not common though.

If they were our size you could bring one to a gun fight and win quite easily.

A billion years of chemical warfare turned them into walking chemistry labs. Some can even beat the worst bacteria strains at hand to hand combat over a baked bean on unwashed plate 🦠🦠🦠

Late to the game, but in my gardening experience when you got PM, its not going away. The spores tunnel into the plant by creating a germtube and will keep producing new spores. A plant thats not infected can be treated to keep it away but even that is a 50/50. This late in flower doing any kind of spray mix can severly mess up your buds. A bud wash is also not a guarentee to killing PM. Baking soda makes the leaf surface more acidic so new spores cannot attach. It wont 'kill' already settled PM.

Anything from sunflowers to melons, pumpkins, strawberries, cuces etc. will increase the chances of a breakout amongst your plants. A natural way to keep pests away that may tranfer PM is looking into companion plants like chamomile, dill or yarrow and keeping your ladies around resistant plants. Got one next to an olive tree for instance.

My 2 cents would be to snip off everything that has, or you suspect has PM. If you see a spot on a sugar leaf it's most likely already in between the buds :/ Do the same for your other plants and veggies. Do a wet trim at harvest and really get in your buds. Save what you can, burn what you cant.

Edit: PM needs a live host. After harvest it will stop spreading on the plant itself but the established spots will stay regardless.

Excellent info. ^^^^
Just like to add that altho' most species of fungi are host specific, and prefer one type of plant, they can reside on others.
For example: My weed plants were hit hard by Septoria, but then I noticed the grass underneath later became infected as well. So, to slow down the progression, and stop reinfection, I needed to treat the surrounding vegetation.

Your not the op witch makes me wonder why you ask do you have a mold problem yourself or just kicking up shit

Source would the thread , the pics of pm right next to the plant
“ But we found a few mouldy buds!!! “

“ The bud is dark brown/black inside and it seems to have disintegrated. “

Witch sounds very much like bud rot if not pm witch with all the pm surrounding the plant well it don’t take much to put two & two together

As for mold collapsing the lung if that’s what you’re asking about well that’s just common knowledge It’s possible to collapse a lung I’m not saying you 100% will but you’ll will end up pretty sick that I know from experience

Anyways leave the poor fellows thread alone if you’ve not got anything helpful to say ffs it’s not like he wants to read more bad stuff

As for mold collapsing
No, I wasn't try to upset OP. Sorry I was just searching through threads and responding to what was on my mind.

Right now I'm smoking some of my own harvest that did get PM and I washed it. So i was just researching for the sake of my own health. I meant no harm to anyone.

That being said, I would like to hear more about the proof- again, not as an asshole but as a man of science. I just wanted to collect some data on the topic.

As it stands, I can't find any proof of PM having any harm to humans in the medical literature- and I've spent dozens of hours researching. I can say this shit of mine isn't tasting as good as it could.

I can only speak for myself, and again, no bad vibes to anybody here, I was just focused on my task and I didn't read the thread other than the comment I replied to.

Did you cure your weed? Or just pluck and dry? I’ve been testing some buds that are just plucked and dried, doesn’t compare to cured weed.

Yeah, i wont smoke anything until its been in the jar at least 10 days. Unless im running really low lol, but I agree, major difference

So I dry two weeks and sell no cure and no difference or complaints.

Takes a week to dry to under 15% moisture

Takes another week to get full taste and flavour since enzymatic processes require it at low moisture content for this to happen.

Thanks for insulting my bud!

I cured some and some I just dried and put in vac bags, last year. I've noticed no difference between the two, either. I'd need 100 jars to cure it all that way. Maybe more.
.
I'll use what I have, for the tops and best bud's. The rest gets vacuumed

All I know is I smoked some moldy bud but that wa botrytis thinking I was only smoking the good bits & ended up losing my voice & hacking up guitar for some time & I didn’t smoke loads

Threw away over 160z witch hurt bad

I haven’t smoked pm nor tbh would I

In the 50 years I’ve been growing I’ve only had 2 runs get mold so I’m not loaded up on science just observation on mold in general better to not risk it again after last time as I got pretty darn ill

Then again I didn’t try the methods to try save it as both times they were too far gone

I've never ran into health issues eating something with a bit of PM. Ofcourse you'd throw away something wearing a moldy fur coat but honestly everyone has eaten some at some point and it shouldnt pose a direct danger if eaten on accident. If you're allergic to molds and/or funghi it's a different story. I'm allergic to molds myself and am still alive, for now ;p Not saying you should eat it btw. You shouldnt and neither should you let others.

Smoking that stuff is really bad though. Really bad. It tastes awful and hacks up your throat. Consistently smoking PM will get you sick. Got a jar thats had some buds that werent cleaned good enough and I know instantly if I got one with a bit of PM. Ditch it, roll a new one.

With botrytis you dont react to the mold itself but rather the spores that cause an allergic reaction in your body, making ingesting it just as harmful. That shite can send you to the hospital.

Anytime. Not sure what you are talking about, but ok. I was addressing his weed. I can taste the difference, very chlorophylly without cure.

Now look up the effects of those infections. Sound fun?
Alternatively if you insist on smoking moldy bud we want to watch you die so journal it in a thread and upload x-rays and lab reports please.
I believe we recommend you do not smoke moldy bud ever.

Prolonged exposure to any mold at large or long loads is dangerous, whereas we might throw the odd log on the fire that has some on or stand round a bonfire smoking it directly is not recommended whatever the species and fully agree.

Putting it in a jar or bucket or anything. I’m sure you know what it is .

I know what it is, can describe the chlorophyll breakdown pathways and enzymatic processes.

WHat exactly does putting it in a sealed container do?

Here’s my answer. You are trying to baffle me with your bullshit. I ain’t having it. Go fuck with someone else.
