Hi guys,

this is my third grow, but my first "report".

These were vegged for about 4 weeks from seeds, now they're at week 4 of flower.

Setup: Large pots, should be 25 liters per plant. String SCROG (my first attempt), soil. I have some HESI Bloom and "Phosphor Plus" fertilizer. There are 6 23W Osram 2500K (more red than 2700K) CFLs, one Repti-Glo 10.0 UV-B lamp and a small 11W 2700K that I use for under-canopy lighting.

This run, I am watering only when the top inch of the soil feels really dry, adding fertilizer maybe once a week.

The pic is about a week old. Since then, it's gotten worse even though I didn't add any more fert. From the picture, the Utopia Haze looks like she had too much N and maybe too little water. The SLH that got the exact same treatment is looking better, but also has leaves curl into a U-profile a little. I'm not sure if I need to flush or if I should just wait it out. Getting the ladies out of the scrog to flush would be a real PITA.

Also, could it be underwatering?

I know I'm a super Rookie, but when you water isn't it best to water until you have good run off through the bottom holes of the potted plants, let them chill in the water catcher no more than 10 min and remove extra water ?

It has gotten worse. I can def rule out underwatering.

Even though she had plenty of water on wednesday and the earth is still moist (not wet), the leaves have gotten worse. She is continuing to bud, though, and it looks like progress is ok for my setup. The first pic is of the 2 "main" colas (was topped before flower), the second is of a side branch that comes all the way from the bottom. It's nice and green and the leaves don't curl at all.

Is it nitrous toxicity?

well leaves are still green which is a good sign.

I'm a small grower like yourself OP. I don't know what the problem is but I would just say to get your ph right and make sure your N isn't too high and your giving her enough P and K...watch for purple stripes on the stems.

Other than that, your fine. On my first grow I had all my fan leaves die out...way more serious than your situation and I still pulled 2 ounces+.

Gave her a flush, drain water came out at EC 3.20 and PH 5.7

My tap water has a PH of 7, that may be the reason why the PH was still ok despite the high EC.

Flushed her to EC 1.50, PH 6. PH seems a LOT more stable than EC in my soil.

That was a week ago, I can't tell yet if she is recovering. Leaves are still dark green and curled inward, but she continues to flower. Reaching the end of week 6 of flower and she hasn't really packed on too much in the last 2 weeks. Hoping for the final growth spurt around week 8.

Issure resolved, the flush fixed it. We are now in flower week 7 and she has packed on some more weight on all budsites.

I'm planning on harvesting in the beginning of november, depending on how the trichs develop.

This will continue as a report, so maybe one of the mods could move this thread to the right forum. Thanks!

Harvest time is here! The Super Lemon Haze has already been chopped, gave me about 11g of dried bud, including popcorn and the smallest, fully trich'ed leaves which I smoke aswell, so no need to separate. A very poor yield, normally I get around 20g-25g per plant with my setup. There are two reasons for this:

1. SLH isn't a top yielder, from what I've heard

2. My plant almost died during germination, parts of the taproot had dried out but the plant recovered and almost kept up with Utopia for 4 weeks during veg. Then, the Utopia Haze kept going while SLH did almost no more stretch when it started flowering. At that point, I had hoped the birth problems would be outgrown, but seems like that stuff leaves its marks for life.

Still, SLH frosted up heavily and some quick-dried popcorn gave me quite the head buzz, followed by three hours of vigorous guitar playing and songwriting. Smell and taste are very standard, not a hint of lemon in my pheno. Maybe that'll come once the curing starts.

Utopia is looking like she will yield three to four times that amount, with 7 main colas and numerous, fat buds on the lower nodes. It's easily the heaviest I've grown so far. In a week, I'll know how much of that mass was water. Also, I have been strong and didn't take any premature cuts to quickdry and test. I want to save this for the full experience after about 1-2 weeks of curing. Better be worth it.

So, tonight or tomorrow I'll chop her down and take some pics of my ghetto setup and pseudo-SCROG. I hope you guys enjoyed my first, small report and tune in next time. Leave feedback and comments, please!

Alright, so Utopia has been chopped aswell and is hanging to dry for the next two days before I trim the buds off the stems and leave them to dry for another 4 days before starting to cure.

A pic of my setup:

One of the 6 overhead 23W CFLs is a 10.0 UV-B bulb which is supposed to help with potency. I'll know in a week or two if that worked.

Here's Utopia Haze pre-chop, with a 1 liter fert bottle for scale:

Frosty diamonds, some spots turned a little purple due to cold nights:

Without the leaves:

I'm estimating that she will give me over 30 grams dry, maybe even 40 if I'm really lucky. Considering the overfert she had to endure and the extensive flush (plus no nutes after that), she might have given me some more under better conditions - but that's gonna happen next time around. So far, Utopia Haze is by far the heaviest yielding crop I've grown so far, even compared to some Indicas I had. It's definitely a keeper and judging by the density of trichs, should be decently potent.

All in all, I improved my previous yields to 40-50g with two plants and around 150W - which is still pretty bad, I know. Still, since it's not done commercially and strictly for my own personal enjoyment, I have enough to last me a while before I pop some more seeds.

Sorry for the messed up pictures. I'll edit the post soon. For now, here's some porn of almost-dry unmanicured bud. All of this was taken from the single Utopia Haze I grew this year. Watch the scissors for scale.

very nice man...a testament that microgrowers can pull a decent amount if done right.
