Has anyone ever tried using a UV water filter on their nutrient solution? I've been thinking about the idea of trying out a UV pond filter on my hydroponics to help extend the use of nutrient water. Like maybe setting up a smart plug to run it once a day or once a week for an hour.
Interesting article about that here. Basically it destroys the chelated iron that makes it unavailable as a micronutrient. Another good article about chelated iron here. So maybe adding some chelated iron like thisafter each sterilization could possibly extend the life of nutrient water(?). I think I might have to try this someday.
