I recently got an across international vac oven and am hoping to get some responses from other vac oven users. My goal is to try and produce room temp stable shatter everytime as shatter is currently the most sought after thing in my market. What settings on vaccum ovens are people using to achieve shatter? and for how long do you purge?

Some info on my situation. I DO NOT have an enclosed system for blasting. I blast through glass tubes into a pyrex that is being double boiled in water that is never more than 140 F. Then I allow the material to water purge until it is relatively inactive. At which point i scrap it out and then place it in the vaccum oven and purge.

I have used many different settings on the oven for various durations of time to try and achieve room - temprature stable shatter. Purged anywhere from 100- 140 f, any where from one hour to six hours. Also have tried to "vaccum stablizie" the material out of the pyrex at room temprature before adding heat in hopes that this would prevent it from buddering or cookie crumbling.

what I usually get is budder.... waxy.... cookie crumble.... honey comb style finished product. similiar to alot of the picture in the THIS IS BUDDER thread. What im looking for is room temp stable shatter that is basically dry to the touch and snaps easily as that is what the market CRAVES.

Any info from vac oven users would be super helpful. also any insight or info from anyone else that is vac purging in some other way than with a vac oven.... i.e. a DIY vaccum oven... but still able to get the kind of shatter im talking about would be greatly appreciated.

So this is what I have learned. First, strains do matter, some butter easier than others. Next, the age and quality of material, is it fresh and clean? If so then shatter should not be too hard to achieve. after blasting on a pyrex I let it sit outside till its safe to bring the pyrex inside and then immediately pour the material onto parchment paper and start the vac process. We have been able to get consistent shatter this way, and my stuff stays shatter for months before waxing/sugaring up.

savanah..... what temp r u setting your oven at? how long r you running it at that setting? do you just get the oil to deep vaccum and then hold it there? or do you release the vaccum and then re vaccum again? As for the trim I have been using it is all fresh and clean.... I always dry the trim as much as possible in my drying room and recently I have been loading my tubes pre-blast and freezing them as cold as possible in my freezer, though I am not sure if this even makes a fucking difference. I also have been using a food processor to grind up the material before i load it. It seemed to have helped my yields. Do you have a closed system extractor?

shawnkush..... I've looked into winterizing but I just dont know enough about it to start doing it. Also at least where I am there seems to be no difference in market price between winterize and just vaccum purged so makes it hard fiscally to consider doing it....

Put a 1/2" marble shelf in your oven to act as a heat sink. Follow the manufacturers directions on start up, so the self teaching controls are at their optimum.

We purge in about a 1/6" to 1/8" film, at 115F and -29.5" Hg until the solvent bubbles cease, for shatter every time, assuming we are using reasonably fresh material.

Also i dont think your temps are suppose to go over 115f while being boiling the butane off with water also.

I live in southern Oregon, (go ahead take a second to be jealous) and we have been blessed by the pot gods no doubt. I have been running BHO for about a year now with about 4 months of vacuum purge runs. We have been able to make stable malleable shatter glass, from trim or bud. And it doesn't usually take more than 45 minutes from the time we spray it to the point where it becomes touchable shatter. Just bring it up to 25 pounds and then drop the pressure and repeat the process until the oil no longer has visual expansion. then get your max vacuum and leave it under that. (the longer you leave it in vacuum the more malleable it will become. and if you apply proper heat and patience you can achieve decarboxylation a term you might want to research)

I cannot get my oven hot why? The vacuum works it just stays at 74 degrees

I just did a big run on a sweet leaf 5lb unit on sat. these are the steps that i did it may help for you.

De waxed in buckner for 2 hours

Poured off on to parchment paper on a grittle till it became more solid than liquid( about 2 min) then put it in vac oven at 95 f for 48 hours. Will pull out of oven tomorrow night.

I get 99% iso never done but run bho and pretty safe minde☺ lucky neghbors lol got about 2 ps of sugar leaf ect . What is ratio of Iso to leaf I get 500ml bottles
