Veg light 20 on 4 off. Bad?

I told the guy at the hydro store that I was on 20-4 lighting and his eyes got huge and he looked at me sideways.

Normally it’s 18/6.... I figured 2 hours extra light wouldn’t hurt. He looked at me like I was wrong.

Am I? Should I go to 18/6?

IMO there is no one answer and will depend quite a bit on light intensity. Nothing wrong with 20/4 ppl get these handset rules in thier head and for some reason think under any conditions that's the rule... hydro store advice is very hit and miss.

Awesome. That’s good to know that I’m not hurting the plants

auto flowering’s 24/0 lights are kind of tempting. Keeps it all easy and can have different stages too
