Hey guys, I hope everyone is doing great!

It's been a while since I used my 2023 Viparspectra XS 1500 Pro and since that last time I lost the manual. I remember that the intensity and hanging height recommend on the manual was wayyy off from what it should be and that's how I cooked my plants early on. I was hoping you guys could help me figure out what intensity/height should be appropriate.

At the moment the light is at 5% and about 20 to 23 inches from the seedlings, they just grew their first pair of serrated leaves, would say they are 5/6days old.

Thanks everyone!

Hey!
Check out the photone app, I think its on android now too. Its a very cheap PAR meter and helps you give your plants the proper amount of light depending what stage they are in. It's not perfect but its a nice reference.

That sounds good. Post some pictures so we can see how they look.

I just calibrated my Phone and it gave me a reading of about 50 PPFD at the seedlings, i searched in the app and it recommends 100-300 ppfd at this stage so I should be able to increase the intensity to 25 % which gives me a reading of 130 ppfd, am I correct?

How are the plants doing so far? If they aren't stretching, they may be okay. Otherwise, you could try the higher setting and see how the plants react. If they show signs of light stress, reduce the light intensity, and try again after a few days. If they like it, you should see an increased growth rate.

I wouldn't trust Photone more than what the plants tell you. Did you use a diffuser?

They were stretching a bit, it's been 2h and they look great πŸ‘πŸ» no signs so far.

I didn't use a diffuser, just calibrated the phone to the ppfd map.
