Could be right but this is much faster than 3 large plants in veg and i dont have the luxury of time. It's def a quandary for me this decision. Maybe i should jump to coco for faster veg with less plants and larger pots.
It's a big step.thanks for the insights. V helpful

Finish your run first. Let's not stop mid stream just because you can tweak in some improvements. It's knowledge to apply next run

Haha. I wasn't about to abandon ship.
Last run i pulled 10oz from 7 in small pots with this system In 3 month seed to finish.
This time i potted up 3 x so have a far more dense rootball. Also improved happy germination root temps. So i have improved at least 2 elements in this run.

i've seen sog growers complete amazing grows in tiny pots with 20 pots in a 2x4.

Good you're liking the xs2500pro. Are you getting density?

No one is complaining.

My growing style is quite different from yours, so comparisons are not likely to be useful. I've been growing 2 plants, each in a 5-gallon pot. Each plant is directly under a dedicated light.

This series of light uses lenses to focus the light directly under the light. That may be your problem. With so many plants in your small tent, some plants may not be getting as much light as other plants. You may benefit from using a light or lights that spread or diffuse the light more than these lights do. A light system like this one from AC Infinity might be better for your growing style. I have a similar light in a 3x3 tent that performs well.

Those amazing runs usually come from cuttings. Those clones don't have as dense of a root structure. If your desire is quick turn around, then running clones from a few mother plants would be a better way to go. With that approach, you can easily run 20 clones in a 2 x 4. Then your pot size you're currently using better fits your grow.

HEy, sounds good. Are you using 1 tent for both lights?

So, i'm scrogging so my canopy is all level. Which should suit an xs2500 pro perfectly. It has a very even spread across 4 x 2.
What height are your xs2500pros from the plant tops?

I'm 10-12" above level canopy at full power and have all grids filled.

Good point but i don't have access to ready clones and cant keep a mother project.
Would be great but seed or nothing for me.
Starting seeds is really a horrible element of the process, the middle is also awful which just leaves the end, which is great

Put some thought into it while you finish your current run. With some inginuity, you might find a way that works a bit better. If not, start your seedlings on 12/12 so they never get that large.

Thanks mate. I'll keep hammering. A few improvements each cycle thanks to helpful forums like this. Appreciate the insight. I really want some powerful nuggs. This time i'm running barneys pineapple express, original sensible seeds blue zushi, herbies godzilla original glue and serious seeds peanut butter OGKB.

It's going to be sweet mayhem as they mature at different speeds but i thought it would be amazing to have some variety!

It was a different grower who has the 2500pro. My lights are two ROI-E720's by Grower's choice and one 630 watt nanolux in my other tent. My grow is much larger. My lights are much more powerful so my distance may not apply. I would be more inclined to suggest you use a smart phone app like photone to dial everything in. They are usually close enough for that purpose and the cost is perfect. Free

I keep my p2500 stationary and just use risers to bring the plants upward. The hanger it came with i just doubled it around the top bar so it's near the top but has room to exahaust heat but that's mostly from the balast.

As for your plants going forward in small containers, I would take a look at how this system works. It's a reservoir, a small container that fills from the top and empty's from the bottom. It has a float valve inside it so that any container that is plumbed to it will have a water level at the same heights as the smaller control container that contains the float valve. Here's a picture of the spider farmer system.

Taking this idea ... a reservoir, a float control valve, and a container that closely fits the size of your tent. You put holes for wicking ropes in that larger container's lid and then set your fabric pots on top of that lid. You now have a self watering system that is engineered specifically to your tent size and your grow routine. It would work well in either soil or coco.

You could buy all needed components from your local home improvement store.

I have 3 tents. The other tents have AC Infinity and HLG lights. I also have a few older ViparSpectra lights as spares in case of a failure. I also have a new Phlizon light that I haven't been able to use yet. I'm hoping to have that going this fall season when the weather cools and after I clear a space for it.

If it works for you, that's great, but I thought you were questioning whether the XS2500 was adequate. I looked at the specifications again and realized I was incorrectly remembering the focusing capabilities of the light. So, yes, that light should work well for your style of growing. Sorry about my poor memory.

Without measuring, I'd guess about 24 inches. I'll increase that distance before changing to flowering to account for stretching. It doesn't look like these White Widows (photos) will stretch much, though. They were stunted due to a soil pH problem. I plan to veg them longer than usual.

Generally speaking, the greater the distance the greater the spread, but the inverse square law is a matter worth considering. Do you measure the light levels at different places in the tent?

I don't recall that I have ever run any light at full power. My XS2500 is currently pulling 103 watts at the plug, which is 41%. The taller plant is showing slight light stress on the top leaves. I doubt I could run a full 250 watts at 12 inches without frying the plants, but, like I mentioned, my style of growing is different from yours. I did run the light at close to full power the last time I flowered with it.

Hey, thanks for insights. The xs2500pro can be placed v close to the plant tops. The instructions show 10"-12".
I've had zero burn but i would really like to hear thoughts of fellow xs2500 pro users and thoughts.

Wow you have 3 tents. Oof
