Will the alcohol in 80 proof vodka be enough to extract THC and take shots that are also edibles?

So 80 proof alcohol is 40% alcohol, yes it will extract the thc, but don’t scientifically know if the higher percentage alcohol’s are better able for the extraction...I’ve extracted with 100% (200 proof) alcohol, certainly works but very tough to use as a tincture for that same strength reason...Going in a totally different direction now to infused coconut oil capsules, and ground MJ capsules (all de-carb’d) MJ prior for ingestion...

PS vegetable glycerin can also be used to extract THC, and doesn’t have the harshness problem, that alcohol tinctures have.

No. Use everclear to extract the THC and then after it's extracted, dilute the shot with other ingredients.

Yeah, whatever is being used for infusion needs to have been decarbed.

Using less than 190 proof alcohol will inevitably pull pigments and other unwanted compounds due to the water content...
