I had the wood laying around and I picked up a 10 ft chain from Walmart for 5$, a couple hooks I could screw to the board and some screws.

Nice man! I did something similar for my fan. Im going to replace the pull straps with ratchet rope soon but still serves its purpose. Can raise or lower easily still.

Looks good.
A long time ago I bought a large oscillating fan, but it was huge in my grow room and I was constantly running into it. So, I took off the fan blades added a 6 inch inline fan and some ducting. The fan was mounted to the wall and the free end of the ducting was taped to the top of the fan.

I almost feel guilty from its cheesiness. But It worked great. It would oscillate as usual, and it stayed out of the way. The fan movement mechanism died and the whole thing went in the bin after quite a while.

Anyway, thought I'd share
