I read an article last week comparing U.S. egg handling and food safety regulations to those in Europe, and to say that we here in the U.S. put the cart before the horse is putting it mildly.Whole foods has also shut down small guys. One of our long time egg customers closed shop soon after WF moved to town.
They also say they buy local but they have lots of rules and regs. that are just not worth it for the real small scale super high quality guys like us and others.
Best to seek out small scale farms and buy as much as you can and watch what you purchase at super markets, can do well with a little effort
