If you want simple, don't do coco.

I beg to differ, I find coco much less likely to make a mistake in. I use GH flora series in coco. It's very simple and I get great results.

How often do you water?

Easiest i know is botanicare pure blend pro. 5-15ml per gallon each watering. I have only used it in peat mix personally.

Dont argue your preference over results. Coco you water a little bit each day. Dont let it dry up. General hydroponics isnt a bad nutrient line.

It's less work, once you've mixed your soil.

For me, the big benefit is I can go on biz trips for up to 2 weeks without finding someone to care for my plants.

Do you add anything to your soil or just go with the soil itself?

I would agree soil is easier than coco. A good soil might not need any nutrients until well into flowering. Mix soil with 20-30% perlite to help with drainage and water retention. Dolomite lime can help if ph stability is an issue.

Yes. My mix is pro-mix + worm castings or some kind of compost (when worm castings are not available) + organic dry fert (like happy frog) + dolomite.

This is pretty similar to the mix most people use, but there are infinite tweaks.

I add some microbes (trichoderma, etc.), beneficial nematodes, and I'm good. Every other watering, molasses dissolved in the water to feed the microbes. Cal/Mag, as needed, and later in flower, the plants might need some nutrient supplementation.
