Watered topped and sprayed with pepper spray

All I did was watered it cause the top soil was so dry it was cracking then top it and then I sprayed the dam thing with pepper spray and Dawn soap mix which I have used the pepper soap mix a few times before today then this morning this is what I saw leaves curling up an almost dried to a crisp

You need to do foliar spray 30 to 45 minutes before dawn. To prevent what happened

It was 8pm last night when I did it
