watts for veg room?

Anybody have any sugestions for MH bulb size for my veg room? In the old days it was pretty much strictly 1000 watt no name ballast and a bare MH bulb. I'm thinking going to a Quantum 1000 watt ballast but what MH bulb do you recomend?

for veg i use 2 x 5foot 58w daylight bulbs for seedlings and clones a 125wcfl blue for the next 3-4weeks of growth then i use a 250w dual spectrum bulb for larger plants.
thats a lot less than 1000w but i suppose if you can afford to run it 1000 watts would be great.
