Allright what’s the earth box on? I’m going to Home Depot tomorrow to get the 26” water heater treys, and a farm store to see if they have some hog fence to set them on top of inside on top of the treys that’s the best I can come up with in my head lol, I was so close to buying the 3x3 bed, that’s next after I practice with those outdoor beds and the 30 gals lol

I’m thinking of using the same ecowitts you use, you a build a soil fan? Lol

I’ll be hand watering though with a 3.5 gallon sprayer
I bought a ecowitt based on watching week4’s thread. I didn’t get the WiFi thing. I have one station and one ecowitt. It says it’s supposed to be permanently installed in its location , but I use it like the finger test for watering and comparing how much one drank from one pot to another. The opened bag of BAS I had which was a few months old showed 19%. I can’t remember what week4 said Jeremy said was the sweet spot, but I do remember it being something I couldn’t accomplish with the holes in the pots, the media just wouldn’t hold anything more. Overall I like the ecowitt as a tool, but at the same time buying a ton of them I wouldn’t recommend. It’s just a more accurate and expensive soil meter. It updates every 75 seconds, I think I paid more for the analog one than they sell the WiFi one. I just move the ecowitt sensor from pot to pot. The $65 is well worth it imo.

I keep looking at them, might just buy 3 of that version just the sensor and display, I can mount the display in front of each planter outside the tent

I have 6 Ecowitts hooked up to my GW100B-WIFI. And could use another one. Two of them are in the 4x2 bed. On those days I'm super lazy, I can just look at my phone (that's almost always with me) and see where they are with the moisture. The sweet spot according to BAS is 35. I usually let them go to 25 before watering the pots (that are not hooked up to the blumats)
They are handy dialing in the blumats, and are my alarms if and when the blumats decide to not shut off!

This is the cat that turned me on to the Ecowitts

Are you gonna premix your own recipe or grow straight from the soil and just top dress?

Your gonna make me get a 4x8 .. super jelly here. The last time I had a 4x8 the fuse kept blowing 😟 dam garage shares the same circuit as the hallway and two rooms. Who does that!? 🙄
Oh man, seems like you could go an entire grow with that soil in them 30g. And they will fill that tent easy. Your gonna get TREES. way cool man. Get that compost or earthworm castings in there too. Don't be stingy with that stuff. This is gonna be awesome.

Earthworm castings? I love em haha Yeah they’ll be in there, with a half pound of red wigglers per pot to actively make earthworm castings from the chop and drop on the cover crop and old fan leaves and straw

That coast of Maine earthworm castings usually has living worms in it when I pull some out even after it sits here for 3 months

I can do trees I’m sure no problem but I’m going for my average size plant usually can clear 250-300gish per plant and that should be well under sized for these pots, figuring I normally run this size in 12’s so I’m more than happy with that size and not depleting the soil ever by over growing em for the pot size, plus I’ll have the 2 outdoors in the 130g no till boxes

Have the same cover crop bag, way cool. Should probably use it, I get super lazy. Great for when you not growing anything and want to keep the soil alive. My daughter was telling me that the other day. Put a smile to my face.
Check out Uncle Jim's Worm Farm. Their earth worm castings come with...wait for it.... Worms! Who would've thunked it . . 😂 And super cheap with free delivery. Can't beat that, some good stuff.

Last year we tried out Rosemary as a companion plant and it took off. Grew better than expected in some pots. Rosemary is said to repel insects, they don't like the scent of Rosemary.
This grow, the 4x2 garage grow, we're gonna try some Dill.
It's said to attract beneficial insects that prey on aphids and spider mites. We dropped the rootpod in the soil last night, see if it takes off.

We just transplanted the Strawberry Gorilla, couldn't wait. In the video below I kept saying "EC meter".. what I meant to say was/is my cheapo water meter. Kept reading "WET" and I thought my Ecowitts might be off... then I remembered, we mention that in the video. We're not relying on the water meter rest of the grow. Not in this tent.

Good morning!!

Had to check on the Strawberry Gorilla and they are perked up with energy.😁 They are gonna be 👍. Soil is slowly getting back to where it needs to be.

Also checked on the Moonshine and found some exposed roots have hardened. Way cool. Reminded me of a solid video . Somas Sacred Seeds!
