Random thoughts today:

Daughter surprised us with a visit, a week long visit. HAppy to see her..but, my tent is in her room we left semi untouched, (minus the grow tent). Wife noticed I was not happy and saw me staring at the tent. The light on in the room, and I just knew they would probably be left on all night during the lights off cycle inside the tent. CRINGE. I couldn't tell my daughter not to use her own room... had the wife do it.

To drop or not to drop... Todds Tahoe OG x Purest Indica strain... or,, Elev8 Gelato 33 ??? one of these two is next up!

100% barter! I love that shit! Old timer up here had a bunch of animals and grew weed. I don’t have a lot of cash to buy herb so he would take bags of dog food in trade! It was way cheaper to buy the dog food AAANNNDDDD his weed was waaaay better than any store bought stuff! : )

but your story is funny as hell! Reminds of the seen where the chick is asking Craig to barrow his micro wave and vcr in Friday!

Wow... Just saw that I have some Gelato 33 x Okie from Trustfall...lol, totally forgot. maybe one and one?

Edit: fuk it... Elev8 and Trustfall on. Gelato 33.. have them soaking in water. We'll drop them in party cups soon as the tail pops.

No surprise here, Trustfall bean popped way ahead of schedule, dam that was quick. Might have to drop a couple Elev8 beans to get a winner. We'll give it another 24 hours. (36?)

Humboldt Afghani slowly filling in..

and the straw we threw at the bottom must have had some fungas gnat eggs , they just started showing up after we dropped some. Or maybe just coincidence, Mosquito Bits is the cheapest way to combat these critters under the soil. Above we're spraying Bronners soap solution and the go to yellow sticky traps. Easy Peasy.

Buds looking mighty fine! I sound like a broken record but what mix of microorganisms do you have? If it has bacillus thuringiensis youre set about the gnats, they will last a few days. I use great white premium. In any case not that you need it now because youre already taking care of it but something to consider next time you buy microorganisms!
I have glass of vinegar suggar and dish soap and so far only 1 fruit fly. Ive seen a gnat here and there flying but never for more than a couple days.

I dont know I see people complaining a lot about gnats and people who swaped from soil to hydro because of gnats but if you have good microorganisms they shouldnt be a problem. Of course your case is special, they came with the straw, but BT will kill all the larvae so they would eventually all die off.

Also I freaking love gelato, almost everything I grow has gelato in it. Runtz my favorite strain gelato 33 + zkittlez, now Im planting dosidos 33, which is dosidos + gelato 33. Waiting to see how yours perform, specially the gelato + okie wedding cake, never planted that cross.

Oh man.. yes, worth repeating, thanks for the heads up. Same active ingredient in Mosquito Bits, that will have to do till we go through what I have available. I mostly rely on the microbes that come when top feeding with compost. Who knows whats in there. Not Bacillus Thuringiensis, I forgot about the Shark stuff but have a bag of Mosquito Bits on hand already. Just works. 1/4 cup to a gallon of water is all that is needed.

It's not a "problem" per se, it's just known to happen with healthy wet soil conditions. I mean if you don't know how to deal with it it can be a problem. You'd have gnats everywhere. The advantages growing in soil outweigh the minor inconvenience is my angle.

Glad to read this... I'm super stoked about it. I was gonna do an all Elev8 Gelato 33 grow but just couple days ago saw that Trustfall batch that I got in the summer, a pack of the Gelato 33 x Okie was in there! Elev8 doesn't sell the Gelato 33 anymore, so feeling kinda "different" about growing these out. I really hope this one seed pops. With these old seeds, you never know. I have 9 others to go through if this one doesn't. Hey thanks buddy, glad to see ya.

PS.. I added the Shark stuff to my Amazon list. Thanks!
