Oh, I see you are plucking the growth to create more bud sites. Nice, but still would like to see pics of plants.First off what I am seeing in the pictures is very small plants. Are you sure you are in week 5 of veg? It looks by your pics that these are babies. Could you provide pictures of the plants themselves? Also it looks as though in one of the pictures you may have a male. If this is the case I would remove him immediately, so you don’t end up with a bunch of seeds. Hopefully this was helpful. Please keep us updated. Happy trails…
I switched to dwc after some great soil grows, but decided that fungus gnats were not great to have as they infiltrated other parts of the home and other plants.Update: they got root aphids i thought its funugs gnats but i found one without wings. I quess i start over with a new dwc grow this is driving me nuts i already ditched 2 grows and flowerng with pest and root damage is something i dont really need.
If i wouldnt have switched to flower yet id give it a try but i rather dont deal with it they fly into the buds and onto the sugar leaves and start little colonies.I wouldn't throw in the towel yet. I've never had root aphids or any soil pests other than fungus gnats inside but I'm sure they can be dealt with.
What if you didn't tweeze the tiny growths off? And just trimmed once it bushed out a little?
Personally? Like when I top I want a solid inch of stem to choose a cut place. I've never "judged" when for side branches or anything, it's jsut by need of the plant. I won't know if the leaf area is useful or in a good place until I see it at least partway grown. Even then I try to train it to a spot where it gets light instead. Sucker buds down low will rob weight but leaves won't.
Gotcha. I think the small wound on clean stem is just better. Then again I'm exploring like everyone else.I will for sure let them grow out more in future before i remove things idea was to remove suckers early and only cause a tiny wound. DWC is a different approach for me anyway less and bigger plants its enough to deal with 1 or 2 buckets.
