she’ll be holding her own, won’t be much support,. didn’t think it would get that big in that pot and especially being it was a mutant with two main tops created a wide thick canopy,..

GNick, I am definitely sorry to hear about that monster of a plant!!!!

Also glad you're good...!

tape it up tight right at the crack

I have pots I need to move so can’t stake outside the pot. Definitely not as big as yours, but I just stuck 4 bamboo stakes in the pot. Did one a day for 4 days so not to destroy all the roots at once. (This is on a little dolly so I can pull it under cover when it’s raining.)

I would be impossible on your deck, but seen growers stake down empty pots and then slide the potted plant into the staked pot. You might be able to throw gravel into an empty pot (same size as your plant one) and then slide your pot into it. If it was on a little dolly easy enough to wheel around. I make dolly’s out of scrap lumber and just use shitty casters I have laying around, which are fine on a deck or patio.

Larger post would just add a bunch of unnecessary weight and make the pot more likely to tip. Easy enough to add bamboo cross beams to dissipate the load. It’s not like the bud weight is going to be so heavy they’re snapping a bamboo pole. (I’m using 8’ and they’re pretty beefy.) They also make the plastic stakes if you were really worried about weight.

Guessing Nick has more extreme weather than I get. It takes a lot of tying, but have staked similar size plants with just remesh sheets and never had a plant come down.

They’re all teeth and no bite. Give it a peanut butter and jelly sandwich put on a glove, snatch the motherfucker up by his tail and whip him into a tree.
