Hey GNick.....

If the pipe going into the house is accessible, I'd turn the water off, drain it, then remove and replace the pipe and valve....

If there's not a shut off pre pipe bib, I'd install one for sure...

And make sure you have a plumber at your beck and call, standing by to come save your ass! When dealing with that kind of stuff you have to be prepared for worst case scenario! And knowing where the main shut off is is a good start!

Frickin' plumbers. There are no washers in this valve and yes, it's soldered on. If you can cut if off and still have 1" or more of pipe there are what are known as Sharkbite connectors. If not you'll have to heat it off and solder on a female end and buy one you can screw on. Or call someone local recommended by an online neighborhood or someone you know. Sorry man, fkin idiots. They don't care, they know it will leak in the future and know they'll make more $ having to solder. If you have to call someone make sure they put on a threaded female copper end so in the future...
