What and how do you buds foliar feed in organics?

I'm trying to step up my game slightly and I want to start foliar feeding.

Is it even worth it?

Absolutely - foliar feeding is much more effective than soil drenches. You use less, and the plant absorbs more. IMO it is one of the keys to getting improve growth and yields with organics.

I highly recommend spraying Nitrozyme or some sort of sea kelp/weed product, get super strong growth spurts and stack the nodes tight...

Foliar sprays are effective and economical for sure. Liquid kelp products are good, fulvic acid is good, compost tea is good.

I usually use Roots Organics Extreme Serene as a kelp spray because it also contains a natural wetting agent in it(5ml per quart). I do the fulvic acid for increased micro-nutrient uptake as I saw it on a feeding schedule(5ml per quart). Compost tea is fine anywhere from 1/4 to full strength for foliar spray. It helps with disease prevention and growth enhancement. Use a burlap bag when making teas in order to strain out most the of sediment so you can still use the tea in a sprayer without clogging it.

justice...it's funny you talk about the roots organics extreme serene because it's the only product w/ ancient amber that I didn't buy from their nute lineup.

So you can you guys tell me which products I have can be of some use in foliar feeding?

I have:
Neptunes harvest organic seaweed extract
roots organics: grow, bloom, trinity, hp2, hpk
BioAg VAM & Activator (humic/fulvic acids w/ myco)

I'm guessing that the neptunes harvest seaweed would be good to use...can you guys tell me how much I should use?

I have this travel size hair spray bottle thats empty right now and it really produces some super fine mist. Am I right that you would need to spray the undersides of the leaves when the lights come on?

I would do 1 tsp per gallon or so of the seaweed extract.
Don't waste your VAM powder. Use it only for inoculation at first transplant.

Pretty much any liquid nutrient can be foliar fed. Often there are directions for doing exactly that on the bottle. If you are unsure about the dosage, always start w/ a low amount, say half to one quarter what you would do w/ a soil drench.

The seaweed will work great as a foliar - not sure about the roots products, I've never used them. I would also agree w/ mrbong in that foliar feeding w/ VAM is a waste.

My usual regiment has been to foliar humic acid through out the grow, N during veg, Cal-Mag during transition, and seaweed in early bloom. However I adjust what I am doing depending on what the plants are needing at the moment - for examples sometimes I will foliar w/ seaweed during veg as well.

Foliar feeding is also a GREAT way to correct deficiencies, since the plant absorbs the nutrients almost immediately, so you can literally correct nutrient imbalances over night.

1.5ml Nitrozyme and 1.5ml Liquid Karma per gal for foilar through out veg once a week and into flower only for the first week. Then no more after that.

1/4 cup pure Aloe Vera extract (no preservatives)
1 tablespoon BioAg pure Fulvic Acid

Added to 1 gallon of kelp meal tea (1/4 cup of kelp meal in 2 gallons of water bubbled for 24 to 48 hours}

Applied each week. Sometimes I replace the kelp meal tea with Comfrey, Yarrow or Horsetail Fern teas.

those are some great recipes. I think I might go in on some more bio ag products as well as the aloe extract.

One more question...If I water early in the week...do I wait a couple days before I foliar feed or can it be done on the same day?

I def don't want my plant on hyper-drive and something go wrong in terms of watering both on top and below, lol

I use foliar feeding because I don't think the hormones and growth factors survive composting in my teas very well.

Ill second and third NITROZIME-- shit is awesome but runs about $45 for a bottle.

I like a rotation like this: Folair table

Veg- Nitrozime,----- neem Oil,------ Magic Green, Cal Carb

Flower- Cal-Mag,----- Nitrozime,------- Cal Carb

I also spray weekly Green Cure up until mid flower-- [preventative]

Also should I be spraying each product seperately or could I combine Pureblend Pro Grow+Nitrozyme at 1.5ml per gallon+CalMag Plus?

here is what i use to folair feed in veg. neptune harvest liquid seaweed 5ml ,1/8th tsp of aloe vera powder,1tsp of insect frass and 2.5ml of protekt. i also do a neem spray for prevention of bug damage with 5ml of neem,5ml of protekt and 1/8th of aloe vera powder. the results from this schedule so far has been awesome. the 1st 2 pics is of a church strain in the early morning the 3rd pic is of a topped Dela but u can see the healthy leaves that this folair mix has had upon my ladys

There may be no directions for foliar application because the manufacturer has found foliar application to not be very useful with their particular product. However, if you'd still like to do it, I generally cut the root drench rate to one quarter.

In answer to this 4yo thread, I'll also say that Sea-90 is ALWAYS in my regimen and it's helped what I otherwise would have assumed were entirely unrelated problems.
