What are the negatives of a cooltubes?

Do they reduce lumens or extend flowering time? or reduce resin production?
It seems the only time i used them, they didnt want to finish flowering, kept on popping out white hairs and some skinny foxtails. or could that be new nutes i was using. cheap stimulizer and rootcare and budlink...

if its the tube how much closer to the tube should plants be while flowering to make up for it?

I have used tubes for years and before that glass hoods. I have never had any issues that you mentioned and I am sure if that was happening people would not buy them.

The only drawback is light handling, some tubes tend to have quit a bit of light spill but that can be corrected by using a bungee cord to pull the reflector in more.

Pain in the ass to clean lol.

My cool tubes work fine but I hate to clean them. I have to take them out of my tent and disassemble them to clean the inside. Pain in the ass and takes some time and effort. Thanks for reminding me...needs to be done.
