did you makesure non got into the medium?

Yes, I also sprayed the pots upside down and the medium was protected. The immediate dmg was to the leaves. I was shocked because I knew you were a proponent of the method.

I don’t see any mites in the pictures, but the upper side leaf pic looks like mite damage, which looks uniform on the leaf. Thrip damage is more localized (as they’re much bigger and eat in one area for awhile.) When the thrip molts it leaves behind a white shell that you can see with your naked eye. Might be what’s shown in the one pic, but hard to tell. Use a loupe and you’ll know.

Personally I think a 50/50 blend of ISO is overkill with 1 or 2 TBSP per gallon doing the job. (Don’t used alcohol in flower since it will dissolve the trichomes.)

I’ve only dealt with the 2-spotted mites and use this recipe in veg.

2 TBSP (soybean) oil
1 TBSP Castile soap (Dr Woods peppermint/tea tree soup)
1 TBSP ISO (.5oz) - ~0.5-1 oz./gallon
2 TBSP Hydrogen peroxide (1oz)
1 Tsp silica

Once flowering I’ll drop the oil and the low concentration of ISO shouldn’t be a issue in early flower.

The H2O2 alone will kill mites on contact, but not the eggs. So if you’re late in flowering you can just spray with it and it will knock them back considerably. I grow outside and there’s mites all over the place, so it’s not like you’re going to eradicate them and be done. The next day a bird is going to fly in with more mites.

Edit: link to using soybean oil on 2-spotted mites.

A good thread on making your own spray

DIY IPM Recipes

The hydroponics store has always been a rip off selling bottles of water, oils and salts that cost pennies on the dollar. The DIY Flying Skull Nuke Em Project got me thinking about what goes into a good Integrated Pest Management product. They are typically some kind of active oils/other...

STFU dipshit. You can check for yourself by taking a leaf with mites, spray the leaf and look at the mites under a loupe. Don’t be a ignorant tool.

Looks that that was booted , so never mind.

He's gone.

Feel like this place is spraying ignorant, arrogant ego dust as people log on as of late. Definitely feels like the opposite of filtering in extra oxygen.

Most can't check themselves before they wreck themselves.
