I’m A new grower this is my first ever grow in my life lol. I’ve had ups and downs with these plants but for majority they’ve been extremely healthy. I’m on day 37 after 12/12. Flip. I posted here a while back because my flowers didn’t seem to be as large as they should be. After figuring some things out I figured I had nute lock, and a weak light. I gave it a 6.0 ph flush with distilled water. It dries out I gave it food this time. Cal mag, Humboldt flower stacker and Humboldt sweet and sticky. I’m using fox farm ocean forest but it’s has been flushed twice now, once due to nitrogen tox early in veg, and just 5 days ago due to the nute lock. After the flush and the feeding I gave yesterday my buds are looking way fatter to me. I’ve noticed one of my plants is developing some yellowing tips, purple leaves? Underside of leaves turning purple as well. I think I have a phosphorus deficiency but I’d love a double check before I go adding any in. Thanks in advance!
Pics down below. 3rd pic shows leaf purpling. Stems have been purple on all three strains I have since veg but always looked very healthy. The strain with the most purpling came from a very purple mother so. Including pics of the bud too just in case that helps

The root of the problem I believe is my ph is too high. Originally it would sit at a 6.2 but it’s slowly been rising and now it’s at a 7. I always balance my ph I even done some waterings closer to a 5.5 5.8 to try to lower it. Any tips?

Yo those plants look fine to me , actually better than mine atm.
Ppfd?
Only Day 37 dont rush my last grow was about that size at that day and when they matured they put on alot of weight before the last few weeks, they will bulk up no questions.

Depending on when you transplanted in ffof before flower or whenever,, I read that ffof has alot of nutes an one could only use water if they had a large pot in flower , but im also a rookie :p xP ... I see some tip clawing/Nitrogen tox " oops i have dyslexia just read it was in veg but the new growth looks good tho so dont stress.. other than that they look great u doing a good job cheers!

potassium - What are you feeding your plant? What is she planted in?
^ those nutes up there are all I’m feeding, the soil was hot in the beginning so I haven’t been adding much. She’s been looking happy till here in the last few days the onset of the purp literally happens in 2 days

What nutes are you using? Lights? Ppfd?

So I’m just rockin the Humboldt flower stacker, the sweet and sticky, and the cal mag from fox farm. Distilled water balances to a 6.2. Y’all don’t think my 7 ph is a problem? They’ve been in the same soil for roughly 2 months and in the beginning I did have a nitrogen tox but a flush fixed it and I haven’t seen it since.
My entire grow is budget based I’m maybe 300$ all in. The light is a kingled1000w but I read it puts off about 200w actually. I have no idea tbh it’s bright tho 🤣🤷🏽‍♀️ what is ppfd? Im praying you’re right cause it seems impossible to lower soil ph and these things turned yellow and purple fasttttt

She’s 37 days into flower my growmie but you’re good lol I can also kinda see the nitrogen tox, I saw on Google the purpling of the veins of the fan leaves and the underside of the leaves means phosphorous deficiency

Purpling of stems etc can also be genetics, cold temps, cold water, let mine sit room temp... some claim its mag def but I never worry about it. Also under leaves could be genetics but I wouldn't worry to much about that either.
I never ph in soil, it will sort itself out I believe. Some say if you use organics it will but I been using synthetics without checking ph and its working for me, less is more.

When I get a nute burn "aka excess nutrients or lockout I let it dry then only give water till the new growth looks fine again , yes lil parts of the bottom will look ugly cause of the nutes the plant is taking from its own leaves but that's how I roll, also on a budget idk if it gets ugly if it works it works lol but fr im not a pro like some people on this web but trust me keep doing what you do fam

Just looked it up ,, Sweet and sticky contains a fair bit of cal mag and sulfur.
does the flower stacker has those micro?
Stop using the cal mag and if you get a more serious mag def without it just whip it out and also cal mag has some nitrogen in it and excess nitrogen in flower can mess things up other than tox I believe it can affect yield and harsher smoke

I was looking into some stuff and I was wondering if my nitrogen is too low. It’s a mobile nutrient, if too low it can cause yellowing of some leaves, and purpling of the underside of leaves. Do you think it’s possible that I need npk. I haven’t added a npk mix since veg bc it burned my plants. The stuff I use now is flower stacker and it’s 0-7-5. Nitrogen is also acidic meaning it would drop my ph allowing my plant to intake phosphorus better. Is it possible that bc I haven’t added any Nitrogen and flushed it twice that I’m maybe npk deficient? I’ll stop the cal mag use I have been adding it pretty much every watering bc it was deficient in the beginning of flower

It’s possible it’s all genetics too I know nothing about this strain it came from a seed in a bag lol. If it’s what my “guy” says it is then it’s some nightmare runtz. Which has a flower time of like 60-65 days? I’m halfway through that.

I’m gonna give plain 6.2 water tomorrow and I ordered a fox farm tiger bloom 2-8-4 Incase I’m needing to add some nitrogen and phosphorus

Also I rock room temp water (72-74) and my tent temps get as low as 72 high as 78

The online claims of flowering time are shorter than the reality , some say 60 and really only be done at 90 , I think they dont count the 12/12 transitioning stage.
But yeah man stop the cal-mag and for npk I say no , just give it water for a watering or two, and watch the new growth closely.
If any deficiency shows on new growth, pump some npk back in or just lower the dose for now but If I were u just water for a while, and then keep doing what u doing as of now but skip the calmag

Also the lower leaves / older leaves / affected growth from a deficiency cant come back to looking perfect , I just pluck them off some times

My high ass didn’t even answer your question. The sweet and sticky is just carbohydrates. It’s microbial food I don’t think it has any npk. I was giving my plants wayyyy to much cal mag which is prob why I got lockout, I flushed my plant it looked real good then crashed in 2 days.

I’ll give them water for the next few goes 💯💯 you the goat I appreciate all your help. Yeah I don’t trust the 60 day time lol, I got a jeweler scope to watch the trichs Tbh this some shit I made up in my head but when I see a few slightly affected leaves I leave them while I fix the problem, let the plant f em up then I pluck them in hopes that whatever is wrong w my plant will suck those leaves first before moving. And tbh all my new growth looks great, a few of the big sugar leaves ? Or small fan leaves idk have tiny yellow tips but other than that.. all the damage I’m seeing is on old fan leaves. The purple under the leaves is only on the sugar leaves but the bud the seed came from was very purple

Haha all good homie im high af too rn, but ye I hope I helped you a bit! Keep the thread rolling with some updates Ill be keeping an eye out on the grow journey :)

Yellow tips /brown tip burn is cause by excess nutrients so when feeding watch the tips of sugar leaves aka new growth and if it gets alot of burn just give water then lower the feed next feeding. But u on the right track homie. Damn I sound like a redneck lolol lmao a ppm meter is very handy

Say less I’ll throw some pics up here in a few days hopefully with good news 🤣

How often are you watering? Do you know your runoff ppms/EC?

Watering once every 2/3 days I have a moisture meter once it says dry I water them again. I don’t know my ppms or ec, I don’t know how to read those either. I’m also in a place where I can’t really afford to buy the stuff for it

It's my understanding ocean forest is quite hot in the early stages. Quite a few guys have burning problems with young plants. I'm thinking you need to collect rain water and use it. Maybe loose the ph pen for now. ocean forest is a very carefully blended super soil designed as a just add water veg mix. The problem you have created flushing the pot is that you have washed a lot of the nutrients out of the soil along with the nitrogen. And the 2nd flush sure would not help the matter. This is a tough one. The purple parentage should have been a clue I missed earlier, cant say about the others. The plant seems to have enough nitrogen maybe keep using the flower stacker as it's 0 - 7 - 5 watch it close for signs of low calcium. Let it be. I don't know about the sweet and sticky. Will keep an eye on your post maybe I will also learn something.
