When you can pull buds off the stem and a long piece of hemp string doesn't come along for the ride, you are at a good dry stage.

Yep, my Pop's was old school, he would always wait until he could hear the main crack a lil bit. Then he would send myself and my brother into the hanging forest, then to the trim room. Sometimes we would hang fer week's!!! I was like a Mervins commercial. Open Open, I would call Pop's he would always say, not before 9am be patient grasshopper.

Tricomes are an evolutionary response by plants against insects predation. Lots of plants have tricomes. Tomatoes have very loud tricomes. Presence of tricomes does not mean flowering. Presence of pistles and calyxes means flowering.
Some strains of cannabis gets trics on stems leafs and actually pretty early in the grow.
Perhaps it is just the pictures. Perhaps it flowered when put out but reverted and never came back.
Growing pot always produces pictures like this

It looks to me like it was hung without any trimming and the leaves are covering small underdeveloped buds.

I am a 1st timer. I grew 1 plant because out of 7 seeds, only 1 sprouted. They all germinated but I had to have done something. Anyway, temps here are dropping (Im in Iowa). I planted my cannibus in late May. Next time will start in March or early April. Anyway, reichomes were all cloudy with few Amber. Decided to harvest and I have the whole plant upside down in our shed. My bf doesn't partake and also was complaining about the smell.
My question is how do I know my buds are dry? How do I measure RH? This is sooo technical. But, Im in for the long haul till I do an autofliwer in the spring (I grow outside)

buy a thermpro bluetooth hygrometer on amazon for 11 dollars. it gives you temp and humidity reading with a chart log and sends it to your cell phone via bluetooth. You can track it over hour, day, month... as for know when the buds are dry, research the twig snap... usually when the stem bends and does not snap when bent the bud isn't dry yet. when it snaps clean when you bend it that is usually when it is time to remove the buds from your drying tent or closet and trim them down and put them into mason jars with 62% boheva humidity control bags, then burp the jars every day for 20 days miniumum... that is the curing process... research how to cure the buds because its is going to be what makes or breaks the quality of the final product. Here is a hygrometer. I have this one which is a display version. I see it from my wyze cam mounted in the corner pole of the tent. If you look close there is a thermpro bluetooth hygrometer which is attached to the pink string and is tucked below the visual hygrometer and it is positioned next to the colas just above the scrog screen where excess humidity can cause bud rot during mid to late flower... Keep that humidity below 50% during this stage of mid to late flower to avoid bud rot. I can't the visual hygrometer at night lights out so the bluetooth hygrometer works 24/7 and will let you know temp and humidity in the dark. Very convenient to check your plant temp and humidity from your tv chair.

I started my seeds mid March indoors, gradually moved the seedlings to the garage,lost a few due to cold, but managed to salvage 3 out of 16 seeds that grew for 6 months and am just now harvesting some nice nugs. They only started budding 6-7 weeks ago. Photoperiod seeds take 5 months where Autoflower seeds take half that time to finish. Get 2 plantings a summer but plants are smaller and 1/3 the yield. Go to Chat GBT for all your analyzation questions. I did all the way it guided me. The last part on drying and curing tells you....I wash my buds, let them air dry a day out of direct sun with wind on toweks, then took them in baasement, laid out on table or drying rack with a fan indirectly blowing on a few days, then after 7-10 days , put them in canning jars to cure 1-2 months,using the Boveda 62 degree humidity packs you can get on Amazon. They can last from months to a year...just open up to burp jars daily for a week or two, then for every 4 days or so. Proper curing and not too fast where leaves curl up is what you are after, which provides a lecc harsh,smoother stronger bud.
