I'm surprised that's working for you. Maybe you got an old bag, stored outside a long time with condensation cycles. Maybe the nutrients released and depleted.
I guess so haha.
i think your right on track, beautiful plants, miricle grow is good soil you just have to work it,you already have slow release nutes in it,so as your doing watch and tweek your ppm to adjust for it,you cant flush the nutes they just wear out, best thing is what was the start with fresh soil ppm, like jw said ,slurry test,he has a great thread telling exacully how to do it,with that said when you do it and find out what the soil is still providing you can adjust the ppm in the pot and finish the grow, for those that over do it is were the trash starts talking, you already know you have it and probally wont use again ,but if you figure the technic out to feed and adjust and provide great meds why not, back in the early 80's i used it a lot with there own feed and grew herb, your on track to success
thanks man

I won't use their products because of all the damage they've done to gardners for decades. F 'em. I don't care what's in their soil.

But with that said, I do indeed wish you luck!
Thanks SoCal. Like I said. Didn’t know it was so bad to use back when I started. I won’t use again. I’ve done a lot of reading since then and feel like you guys on here have taught me lots haha. I didnt want to risk transplanting so I just kept them in the MG and the nutrients to a really low minimum. I feel like I made it work with what I had going (fingers crossed). I usually stay pretty quiet. I read almost every post that’s made here and try to absorb knowledge. I have recently started 5 autoflowers in 3Gal fabric grow bags with Promix BX (M). We will see how those go haha

Here is a 30 sec video of the grow space and plants. I can’t really get good pics that do justice but the video works better. Hopefully I can stay on the right track for the next few weeks till harvest. Lots I’m going to do different

* Growing can be fun !
* Everyone fucks up/fails sometimes ( def could of been worse)
* Just make it a learning experience to not do miracle soil again and know what’s in your medium, what’s in your medium or to make your own & means what your consuming ( like you or anything else )

I used their crystals for years before learning what it was doing to my soil. In pots it's a different animal so been there done that like far too many others.

That soil mix is strong unless like someone else suggested it sat out for a prolonged period and leached. I doubt that but never know. Be careful.

Plants look good. Talk to 'em. Hell, sing to 'em. 👍

Haha I’ll start talking to em. I will be careful. Just gonna keep doing what I have been doing and hopefully shit works out haha. Thanks for posting. 👍🏻

I agree for sure. Again, I didn’t realize at the time it was so bad to use. I’ve learned a lot since and decided to work with it. That’s why I have been giving so little nutes. I can easily get nitrogen burn. Just trying to stay safe. They look pretty healthy and good so I’m just trying to stay on the safe side. Na’mean haha.
your crop is lookin healthy no matter what soil your using. Every step of the way is a learning process. :)

and aside from talking to them, they are little pervs, they love it when you reach under their skirts and fondle and rub their stems. Sends shivers up their xylem and gets them all wet n sticky. :)

Did you choose BX for a specific reason? It has less perlite (than HP), and adds vermiculite. It will stay wet longer. That's usually not the right direction to go. Faster wet/dry seems better, especially in soilless where you're providing the nutrients each feeding.

From what I've read the past, it seemed like BX was chosen when growing with HPS lights because the radiant heat dries HP too quickly.

Hopefully it's a non-issue and you'll have great results. I just wanted to point out the difference.

Thanks AZ. I did not know that. I’m from a small city in Canada and my Local grow store told me it would be the best stuff too use. After reading a few posts on promix it seemed like the right thing to do. I have started to question the knowledge of my local store. One of the reasons I came here actually haha. They are 12 days old so maybe I’ll get some HP and transplant them. They are auto flowers and are just being left outside though. I herd transplanting autos isn’t a good thing to do because of the short life cycle. Herd they also require hardly any nutes.

It's wise to question hydro store advice. I'm sure there are exceptions, people in it for satisfaction and spreading truth. But, there's a lot of flim-flam out there, and I see a lot of it prominently displayed in my local stores. (wink).

Pro-Mix (HP or BX) should be good with the nutrients you're using. I.e., soilless and hydro nutrients. You'll need to feed stronger. When I grew soilless, I used Pro-Mix HP with 25% more perlite added. I used General Hydroponics 3-part flora series, following the "useless" schedule. (You can google and find that schedule on Growkind. You can plug its values into the spreadsheet and see the NPK ratios and strengths that result.). I fed 2-3 times stronger than I feed in soil now (using soil nutrients).

So, that may be a considerable change for you after using pre-nuted MiracleGro soil. Since nothing's in the soil now, it's all on you to supply everything.

You're right. I wouldn't transplant autos. It's best to plant them in the container you want them to finish in.

However, I wouldn't say they use less nutrients. I haven't noticed that, but I've only grown one strain. They have limits on how large they grow. They remain compact, like a bonsai version of a full-size plant. Maybe in that sense they use less nutrients. Hardly any nutes doesn't sound right to me. I'd treat them like a photosensitive, and make decisions from there. (Also, the seed banks tend to give the impression autos can be harvested at 7-8 weeks? That may be the earliest you could harvest -- if you lived on a deserted island and your life depended on some meds. :) But, you want to decide when to harvest the same way you do a photosensitive. You'll find that happens around week 11. (People tend to get excited at week 7, thinking they have to do something; that it's different.).

Awesome. Yea I figured I would have to give more nutes and stuff using a soil that doesn’t contain any slow release product. I was wondering the difference between the HP and BX. I’ll take a stab at the HP next grow. I haven’t given them anything yet cause they are still fairly young. I have no expectations on a finishing date or anything. As long as they finish before it starts getting cold haha. They look really good for only 1.5 weeks old. Ill get a pick when I get home. I have about 8 leaves already. I’ll probably wait at least another week to feed. Was planning on starting low and just working the nutes up each time. I’ll definitely take your advice and treat them like photos. Thanks again sir.

Be careful watering around the stem that way. Even though the container looks oversized for the above-ground plant, there could be root reaching way out to the fabric. You'd be surprised how fast they grow.

It's difficult not overwatering in an over-sized container, but at the same time, not let it dry out. It's more tricky when they're seedlings. At this point, I would drench the soil if that outer part is dry, and wait for it to dry before watering again.

Thanks again AZ. I was just watering like that because they were just seedlings and I didn’t want to soak them too much. Now that they are getting bigger I’m going to switch my watering technique to what you stated. I’ve been giving them distilled water. Going to change that to the regular filtered water I give my main plants. Also going to give em nutes for the first time. Funny story. My 2 year old ripped one right out of the pot. Roots and all haha. The soil was dry at the time so I could see all the roots and stuff. The roots were about 4 inches long and growing downward. Didn’t look like they were going out to the sides just yet (probably cause of the way I was watering). The plant was all crumpled and bent. Real sad looking. I was about to throw it out but I figured I’d try and just pop it back in and water. 12 hrs later all the leaves popped back up and looks normal now haha. I guess time will tell.

Cannabis will put up with a lot. It seems like plants that are stressed the most produce the best. I have broken limbs with only a thin skin holding the pieces together. I electrical tape over it to hold them together. It ends up being a big fat knuckle, and that limb ends up having the largest bud. There are people who deliberately molest their plants believing it improves the outcome. I haven't gone that far. I just do LST. But, it's tempting because I've seen trauma lead to good results.
