Cleaning and Disinfecting With Bleach
Get information on how cleaning your home regularly is an effective way to prevent the spread of illness and disease. Learn how to make bleach solution and disinfect safely.www.cdc.gov
Thank you.... I'm slightly obsessive about things when i get into it. So any extra measures to be safe I'll def do.Soapy water first, then follow up with a 10% bleach solution. FYI- the only method that works for killing Hops Latent Viroid on surfaces is 10% bleach solution. This may not be a concern for you being a small grower, but prevention is far cheaper and easier than mitigation.
You have to disassemble the fan. Oil the shaft. Reassemble. Usually gets them going again if they stall out. The Ozone and peroxide cleaning procedure is about as sterilize as it gets. Won't kill prions or tardigrades. But anything else will die. But you must vent the fog somewhere safe. And it will smell like a swimming pool when you're done. Takes 30 minutes. Once it's aired out. It's ready to go.I have a couple fans in my tent
I’ve seen some great ways to clean them easy.
Can not find them.
If anyone has suggestions, I’m all ears.
PS I hermed my last plants. Really want to do a deep clean
I didn't think of the diodes..... It's safe to wipe then down with the bleach water mixture or do you just wipe down with plain water?I mix about a cap of bleach in a gallon of water. Then use that solution to wipe down the entire inside of tent after removing all equipment and sweeping up all debris.
Then I disassemble each piece of equipment, wipe it with the same solution, and return to tent once clean.
I do this for everything and just very lightly wipe the diodes on my lights, once done I leave the fans running and exhausting for a few hours before using the tent again.
I use the bleach water and never had any problemsI didn't think of the diodes..... It's safe to wipe then down with the bleach water mixture or do you just wipe down with plain water?
Yes youre right I guess Ill have to swap to bleach... ugh. Thanks for the insight, thankfully I never had any affected plant affect my next grow but might have been just luck, and cleaning.Eliden,
Look at the concentrations of the H2O2 being recommended. You cant buy that at CVS. Also you should delve into the materials and methods. I’ll bet they immerse those spores in liquid H2O2.
I’m not arguing. But in my work I owned several clean rooms. Passages and also the clean rooms were final filling of pharmaceutical pediatric vaccines took place . Never was H2O2 used to disinfect. It’s not effective. Bleach and/ or spoke-klenz followed by a thorough wipe down of all surfaces with a solution of H2O2 to remove the residues.
In a grow tent wipe surfaces with a bleach solution. Allow for a good residence time while still wet. Don’t let it dry.
It works.
Same hereOne of the many bleach-based spray cleaner/disinfectants is what I use.
