If you are purging raw BHO oleoresin, I would suggest spreading it thin on PTFE film. You can double it over and roll it thinner if need be.
As long as the chamber holds vacuum and you can see what you're doing, it works. The critical part is temperature and pressure. Typically a fondue plate won't provide good temperature control in our range, so you might consider a silicone heat mat with controller, or a sand bed to help buffer the temperature surges.
I place the thin patty in the chamber and heat it up until the puddle fully melts, usually between 110 and 115F, and then pull a vacuum until it reacts violently, at which point I hold it at that vacuum level until it no longer boils violently, and continue pulling down until I reach -29.5" Hg, without violent boiling, and then I flip it and start over.
Usually only once or twice, but I quit when it no longer produces solvent bubbles at 115F and -29.5"Hg, however long that takes.
