Just a guess

Looks like it’s trying to grow buds. Plants is under fed.

it does look like some mutation or viroid ...

It’s an outside job. It’s one of 100+ branches. It’s a tiny one at the bottom in the middle of the plant. One other branch looks like it had the same but the rest were fine. I was thinking maybe mites starting or some other bug

It came off this one and down the bottom. This is a picture of the other bit that looks the same. I took the branch I showed earlier from next to this
