I have had an amazing time growing in soil so far, and for the foreseeable future I will continue to. But, I am curious. I'd like to hear what everyone's growing in, and why you choose/prefer it over others.

Soil. Foxfarm happy frog to be specific. I use it because it seems perfect for cannabis and has never let me down in over a decade. Great stuff.

Don't pay over $20 a bag though. Right now places are price gouging with some places asking over $50 for 2 cubic feet. SMFH

Store near me sells bags of happy frog for $6. 1 bag per 3gallon fabric smartpot. :) so that's what I use now, or miracle grow moisture control worked great for me also actually. Just holds the right amount and drains well and i don't have to feed for a few weeks. The happy frog is new for me i just planted my first 4 autos into some a couple days ago and they are doing good as far as i can tell.. They're green and not dead looking so theres that lol time will tell as the grow picks up but so far so good.
My reasoning for choosing soil over the others was with hydro grows and even coco it seems the maintenance is thru the roof and things can go wrong very fast. I guess i just prefer the relaxed pace of the soil, i just kinda sit by my plants and enjoy them and its become kind of a meditation for me sitting there examining them stress free. I worry that I would lose out on that feeling of relaxation in growing while having to maintain things so much more often or worrying if you leave that the system doesnt fail or leak or whatever idk.. I feel at home with the soil.

For growth pure hydro, for ease soil, what I think will be my favorite overall when I get there coco.

Hi I’ve grown in all types of medium , soil from garden , made up stupa soils , potting mixers , the red round balls in a flood n drain set up that almost killed me after slipping on some in the shed , rock wool , crushed blue stone , cat litter clean of corse , my on made compost made by my chooks , some worked well some worked not so great , Now I only use 30/70 coco perlite mix I find for my type or stone age round wheel grows it works the best in my situation , all the others above I had so much troubles with watering , lack of nutes you get the picture , I also like the way I can incorporate back into my composting cycle , Rockwool and the clay balls are very hard to discard and that stuff never breaks down . I’m going to get some of the fox farm soil mixes to try I have never used them so I can’t really comment on them except I see on here lots of new growers killing there plants using hot soil mixes . OD .

Soil,i like to mix it and it is soo easy so i dont have to measure anything:)Also it rarely needs other feeding if you do it right. But i mostly grow outdoors so i admire every good result in every medium, outdoors, indoors:).I'm watching with pleasure.

The part we are all here to learn, sadly most of us the hard way 🤣😭 luckily mine recovered but it was a terrible time to lock out mid-late flower ugh. Probably hurt my yields pretty bad but still looks good and its enough that im excited for the next ones to grow so i can try not to make the same mistakes 😊

Also i figured out my mistake was i accidently mixed the tiger bloom 2x what i was supposed to for a normal feed instead of the 15ml they had been getting 30ml for a couple weeks... Oops.

One of them was hit hard the other 4 burnt a little but weathered my incompetence with the patience of a monk

No not 2 cubic feet. One bag does enough for a 3gallon fabric pot so like 0.4cubic feet for $6.

I dont buy big bags the place i get it locally only has the smaller bags.

I just had a look at this I’ll order some for my outdoor back yard grow come September I’ll have seedling and clones raised ready to start hardening off by late August, in tassie you got be ready to get in ground really quick we only get mild summers average temps 22deg c to 28 deg c if your not in ground by September you won’t pull of a killer crop , this stuff may give me a little advantage over some of the colder days we get in summer , hey I’m on a island in the middle of the Roaring 40’s weather pattern sometimes changes 4 times a day .
