I’m growing in coco for the first time and I’ve never had these issues with soil. Especially at this age. Am I not giving enough nutes? I’m using the fox farm big 3 plus cal mag and microbe brew. I also have gen hydroponics nutes. The grow one and flower one, but I’ve only been using the ff nutes.

N and Mg, overall hungry maybe...

Weird cause I upped from seedling dose to a little higher. But I just did that last feeding. With coco do you give nutes every watering or every other? Also I’ve been watering every 4 days. Is that to long in between?

That’s the only plant like that. The other plants look fine. Tho each is a different strain. It looks like this one needs more nutes. Cause I always feed cal mag at half strength and N comes from the grow big ff nute.

You're not watering and feeding properly.
You feed a 1/4 of the recommended amount EVERY time you water which is 3 to 4 or more times daily.

From experience I can say fox farm is not the best for coco. Can it be done, yes but salt buildup is an issue and then ph swings. I also agree with @ComfortablyNumb on watering, read that thread he posted.

Watering COCO
I understand that I need to water them more but the coco stays wet for a couple days. I thought cannabis needs dry time as well. Should I still water if it’s wet still? And should I use the gen hydroponics nutes instead of ff?

Hydro is out of my area except for a few small things.

Hey @Dirtbag, Help this dude out plz.

Coco needs to stay wet. What size are your containers? Is it straight coco or a blend? What brand?

I feel coco does best keeping it between 80-100% saturated at all times. So when I used it I would feed anywhere from 3-5 times a day using smaller containers. Larger containers you can get away with a bit less, 1-3 times a day
And just my personal recommendation based on my preferences, yes I would absolutely switch from the FF nutes to GH without hesitation. Assuming it's floranova? I actually love that stuff

It’s a blend of coco and perlite. I don’t think I mixed in enough perlite tho. But yes it’s floranova the purple stuff. I’m used to growing in soil so the coco being wet all the time I figured they’d die from over watering. From now on I’ll water them a couple times a day and have nutes in each feeding.

I watered and gave them nutes yesterday. I just checked on them and the coco still looks wet. So should I still water them and give them nutes today?
Water them again until you get a decent amount of runoff.

Read the thread that @ComfortablyNumb mentioned above.

for real HOW TO WATER COCO is your bible and best friend, that thread contains more info than you need and can solve your current and feature problems.
i preach plant preventative

You just have the bloom bottle? In my experience the FN grow in the green bottle is absolutely amazing for vegging plants.

You're in the right track though. Keep it wet, you can't really over water coco. And feed every time, and water until you get a bit of runoff every time.

I have another issue I need help with. I used coco loco, do I treat it the same way as normal coco? My other plants are plain coco, it’s just 1 plant I wanted to try coco loco on. It’s a fox farm soil.

Coco Loco has food in it. That one should just get plain water until she looks hungry, then start feeding low dose nutes.
