What should I test/compare

In about a week I will plant 2 gardens side by side. I was wondering what test I should do first.

I was thinking of removing all of the large leaves and most all of the leaves that have no crystals and leaving the other the same.
or
do I compare different fertilizers/ or bending tops down
I'm sure there a shitload of ways to see what works better.

Whatever you do, it's hard to see results.
I'd like to see a fan leaf removal side by side.
Three cases:
1 no pruning of fan leafs.
2 Prune big fans that shade buds.
3 Prune all fans as early as possible so little primary production goes into them.
If fan removal is a good idea, I think case 3 is the way to demonstrate it.

Small under branches get trimmed half way up on all plants and keep their structure as much alike as you can.

Please don't mess with more than one variable. I am easily confused, and I'd love to see results from your efforts.
