what to mont raw 1kw ballasts to?

hi , i am placing the raw 1k hps ballasts in my attic to help with heat. can you tell me what is appropriate material to mount or sit these on for proper fire safety?

You could use metal shelving or even a 1x6. If installed properly, fire risk shouldn't be an issue.

Plywood and then a layer of sheetrock .

ok well guys thanks for the replies found some fireboard from fireplace that we will use on top of 2x12s. !!!! should stay cool
