What type of compost for a water only no till?

if you keep your mix in equal parts you shouldnt have problems,let the compost be your feed,only time i top dress is about 4 weeks from harvest myself,if the soil dont get it ,it dont get it, now outside when you do re amend your soil and if you do ,dont put as much perlite in it,you dont want the soil to drain a lot outdoors indoors yes,but the sun will drain your garden with a lot of perlite mixed.
starting a bed like you are 1:1:1 soil ,compost ,air product , as mentioned do a soil test a cheap one off amazon 30 bucks and do great for your project,next year you already have your base,just add compost, dont forget some card board in there worms love it, far as your clippings go ,keep your browns even with greens and you have a happy bed.
this said is if your greens and browns are even mister worms be happy and that is your amends,all the good stuff takes place below the soil and they good employees.
