I always wanted to study and work with primates. We have a college up here in WA with a great program but I just never went for it.
The niece of my oldest and dearest school friend, or rather one of her nieces, is a primatologist. She has a blog, something capuchin. I always tell her I'm afraid of monkeys, cuz monkey fuck you up!
I did find out you had to have at least 4yrs of college. There are many backgrounds they look for from agriculture backgrounds to Botany, Land & Forestry Degree, Animal Behavior studies... the good part about these studies to is it allows him to choose from being a Vet to working for B.L.M. which would lead to anything from park ranger to working at a fish hatchery.. and you'd be surprised where some fish hatcheries are located, some beautiful locations.. we had one at a state park where I managed a resort.. Willow Beach Resort & Marina. One kid trained there for a year and was off to the Mountains of New Mexico.. actually gave him a Blue Heeler pup to take with him, sure they are doing great... I wish your son much luck, having a direction is important
Thank you for this information! :)

Ok...here are my two jobs I really enjoyed as a youngster.... First: Making a living on the drag racing circuit....stupid, ran out of $$$ fast. That hobby/job is for rich folks or with an name like Force. Next...staff announcer on radio. (disc jockey). Could have had a successful career doing this....unfortunately the wife said either that childish job or me. I'm still married.

Today I mostly pick fly shit out of pepper.

Great thread. If you have read the last lecture.. its almost this topic. Achieving your childhood dreams. The guy who is 40 w 3 small children learns he has pancreatic cancer and will be gone in 4 months. He steps up and does a real last lecture at his college and it is pretty great, along with the book. You can YouTube and watch the lecture...

Anyway, I wanted to be a pornstar and after that career I got a job as a gas attendant. I was fired because I kept pulling out the nozzle and spraying the trunks..... (Your welcome)..

Was a fry cook and loved it, but the money wasn't enough so became a minor league Bill gates.

See, I think that if you're a horndog porn star would be the *last* job you'd really want. Why? Because, I learned the hard way working aquatics that if you spend enough time with your arm in the tank, you aren't going to want to keep it wet at home, too. It ultimately kinda ruined the experience for me in a way. :o

One of my cousins in PR is, or was, a drag racer. He even built a track to get others to come race against him on the island.

Call me lame. But always wanted to build Hondas for a living. Still do part time but with life and my other job and my other other "job" don't have much time to turn wrenches. :( I love working on cars in general. Old muscle cars to 4 cylinder sleepers. If it goes fast I love it. Hondas are my passion though.

Or be an evil mad scientist!!! Mwuahahaha!!!!

@Seamaiden Touche'
You are probably right on the money with that.
I turned down MANY "lets go fishing" invites during offseason when I was commercial fishing. I'd always get friends and neighbors wanting me to look at this or check that on their boats as well, when the last thing I wanted or needed was to see another boat.

Funny, I can actually think of many examples of this
My uncle is a plumber and his toilet never worked right
A good friend that turned wrenches all day yet drove hoopie deathtrap
A landscaper friend with long grass and nada flower or bush in the yard

I think almost/many jobs become mundane after some time.

After my wife made me quit the D-Jay gig I started selling cars in 1977. That pretty much ended up being my calling. Stayed in the car business until retirement in 2010. Worked my way up to part owner of a Nissan Dealership. I started growing a couple of years before retiring and growing and being a property manager/investor pretty much keeps me h0pping today.
It would be nice to have found a "Dream Job" that paid well.....usually they don't.
