Hey guys,

I like to stick to organics and natural ingredients, I rarely buy products from shops (for my soil that is), my current situation...

I have 20+ seeds arriving soon, I have several Ideas for the set up - cupboard grow, tent/small, snake cabinet... so indoors under lights, small plants/dwarf varieties etc. and of course natural.

The soil and compost consists of (I have a few piles of these) :

Heaps of Chicken shit (aged 1+ years old).
Moldy, rotten, wood chips.
Worm castings (due to recent floods/storms readily available).
Old soil from old pots (potting mix).
Old garden soil (80+ year old gardens).
Some paper and cardboard.
Grass / leaves / garden left overs.

So what would be as good mix / ratio for these ingredients for growing indoors ?

I just did random layers in a compost heap and turn it every second day... in a rotational system - as in compost stays in one pile for two weeks, moves to next pile in the line and stays there for two weeks and finally sits in the third and last pile for a final two weeks... for a total of six weeks in the compost heaps... it's a continuous cycle.

Questions :

What ratio of ingredients should I use?
Should I add some more ingredients?
Is this a good mix of ingredients?
Will the bugs, insects and natural critters cause dramas?
If pests are a issue how do I counteract them naturally (or not)?

Cheers...
