I am not familiar with the term "grow box," is this what you are referring to? If so I think it is crazy overpriced. What is your available size?I'm in NY and we can grow weed now. Wanted to get something like a grow box that is discreet and can grow at least a pound. I see they have some that work with smart phones are these a gimmick or can someone grow high quality weed with them? Can someone recommend some brand named ones or lower priced ones that do the same as the high priced grow box
I think something like this is a much better deal, and this is actually a steal, because there is a $80 off once you hit that coupon button making it only $320!!! for a tent, brand name light, fans, etc..I'm in NY and we can grow weed now. Is this something you're looking for, or much bigger? if bigger than you should buy the parts separate most likely.
This setup, take no offense, looks like utter garbage. IMO it's worth $200 not $1000. If you think that a "smart box" will eliminate any work from your end on maintaining plants, or making it easier, I don't see it. Once you start shopping around you will see that those parts don't cost that much separately, and that no one needs a voice activated grow room. Everything should be automated, not voice controlled. The lights, fan, exhaust, pumps, will either be constant or on a very cheap timer ($10-20) to make them automated.OG Edition Automated Hydroponic Indoor Grow Box - Hey abby

Yes I'm in my 40s and my friend use to have a phototron but he never used it because someone stole it but it looked good and it looked like it can grow bud but I was like 16 or 17 at the time. I figured technology has improved so that these things were legit. This setup, take no offense, looks like utter garbage. IMO it's worth $200 not $1000. That box looks like a millennial's pipe dream. It will cost a lot and still only produce the same as other setups that cost less than half of that.
IMO I would research/google Grow tent packages, look at what's included in the complete packages like the one listed above from another user.
If you can sacrifice 2x2 feet, maybe you can do 2x4' ?? I don't have a lot of room either, and I went with a 2x4 setup. I project over 1lb from the yield in my 2x4.
The other Con about that smart system is that everything seems locked in. In a grow tent you can upgrade your lighting, change from soil to hydro, trellis net, etc... modifications are easily available to accommodate your growing style.
I remember this thing from when I was a teenager, I saw something like this in High times and it became my growers pipe dream, that I never bought thankfully
How crazy is this? this was my young grower's pipe dream

Yeah I want to make sure I buy the best parts now and not have to upgrade in the future.I am not familiar with the term "grow box," is this what you are referring to? If so I think it is crazy overpriced. What is your available size?
Are you opposed to setting up a grow tent yourself, and buying the supplies individually?
Bingo, @Ponky's response is the one the OP should focus on. Personally, I would go larger but that's me and my preference. However that 3 x 4 is much more likely to yield a pound a grow than that little cabinet would. I'm not even sure that $800 cabinet could produce a pound, all grows combined, in a year! The pre-built cabinets are fools gold. Save you nothing. Offer no advantage. Just get a tent. A charcoal filter. Some fans. And get started. If you don't smoke much you can get away with a small one. But 4x4 and 5x5 are pretty standard sizes for use with most lights. A nice LED array and tent set up. Right around a 1000 bucks with everything in a premium trim.
VIVOSUN 2-in-1 Grow Tent, 48"x36"x72" High Reflective Mylar with Multi-Chamber and Floor Tray, 4x3 for Hydroponic Indoor Plant Growing https://a.co/d/a4Hj4x9
Something like this gives you a spot for mothers and clones and a finishing side.
Are there any models that specialize in keeping the smell down?
I've got Vivosun tents, and several carbon filter systems of various sizes. It's solid gear. The difference between it and AC Infinity is the automation they offer (for a higher cost) built right into a lot of their gear.VIVOSUN 6 Inch 440 CFM Inline Duct Fan with 6 Inch Carbon Filter Odor Control with Australia Virgin Charcoal https://a.co/d/8hLJ7d5
These are cheap and work really well.
^ Is much more realistic and would likely meet your goals. It's a much better idea than those grow boxes.Or you can DIY yourself a nice little piece of furniture if you don't want an ugly tent in your space(you did mention discreet). Might require a little MacGyver skills and some effort but can be easily done - just needs passive intakes, an exhaust hole, LED, exhaust fan.

What are your limits in NY for recreational cultivation? How many plants can you grow?I'm in NY and we can grow weed now. I think it's a plant per person in the house hold. But who's going around checking? I don't have to much space so I'm going to try for at least a pound. What are your limits in NY for recreational cultivation? How many plants can you grow?
Ok so let me know the carbon system filters that are the best to get with the vivisun tents. I'm going to order everything this weekend. Do those AC infinity come with any stuff with them? Or do I need to buy the lights and stuff?I've got Vivosun tents, and several carbon filter systems of various sizes. It's solid gear. I’ve seen cabinets like this sold pre done with everything but they might be another of those pipe dreams ponky mentioned. I don’t remember the specifics of everything that came in them but they looked cool. I really wanted one at the time but it was expensive as hell. I’m sure dyi is much better route.Or you can DIY yourself a nice little piece of furniture if you don't want an ugly tent in your space(you did mention discreet).
