IMO...the only way the dispensaries have stayed in biz is the back door. We are already seeing it all being linked to Columbian cartels in the public eye....and a few good instances of that kinda BAD press/other bad press on recreational/retail side of the coin will sway this Republican (yes, we are) state hard in the other direction. (if the FED doesn't act first) Folks here are understanding..to a point...but I believe strongly that they (or the lawmakers) can...and will.... make changes (while keeping their personal rights to grow intact) and send the clowns packing quickly if they feel it is out of control. Gonna be interesting to watch from the sidelines...for sure.
"and we just smiled and waived..sittin there on that sack of seed..."
Pandora box is open and the state and Feds will have a hell of time getting tax out of us, but remember they won and get 99% of the booze tax....MMJ/home grows won't go away with the waive of a hand. That's why they were made a part of the State Constitution and were not added on as a lesser piece of legislation.
Denver New website on cannabis, nothing positive to me, the site appears to be about more marijuana restrictions than the promotion of tourism and the positive side of rec marijuana.

I think they are gonna shut down the home grows in time. Once the tax dollars start flowing. They can't control that market & that market has been supplying most of the usa ( cali, wash, colo)
They gotta shut this shit down. They can't regulate the little guy, nor do they trust him. The little men are pushing shit east.
To get rid of the home grow they are going to have to modify the Colorado State Constitution. The best part of the MMJ/REC laws in Colorado is that they are part of the State Constitution. This makes it VERY difficult to take away any State Constitutional Right. Now they can further regulate...so you may end up seeing limits to plant counts that are more stringent than what is current...on the MMJ side at least. But then again there are only about 115K licensed MMJ patients at the moment, so I doubt this will happen any time soon.
The Fed's already told Colorado .gov, shut down the borders or we will come in and blow it all up. So in my eyes, it has become the number one priority of the state to end illegal exports. They are looking at making millions longer term & imo, will protect this at all cost.
