Mighta been me on both accounts.

I received this cut in 1991 through friends of a friend, who lived, yes, west of Boulder..maybe Ned area. Was kind of a fluke I got it. A buddy just happened to be in the right place at the right time and knew I was growing from (bag) seed, so he called me and I gave the "Fuck yes!" thumbs up of approval. Back then, there weren't many growers around...and even fewer genetics. I paid $20 each and bought 6.

I was clueless (some say I still am) and with no Internet and no pot-specific ferts/feed schedules/etc it was a crap shoot. I heard about cloning at a party....cloned the first round in dirt....lost almost all of em...but kept getting enough to root (if I took like 50 cuts..LOL) to keep it going.

Was growing in cut off gallon milk jugs in perlite/vermiculite w/ guano and fish ferts. Best I ever did was an oz a plant... usually closer to 1/2 z. ....so I did like 120 at a time. LOL. I had no clue what the penalties were...just that the shit WOULD hit the fan if I got caught....

grew that clone and a clone called Al Walker from '91 - 2004. That Wheelchair pot would fuck you up fast....and put you down if you overindulged. Had a killer taste.....sweet..kinda cedar/skunk/Pledge all mixed together. The smell had a definite skunk undertone and many, many times when I'd break out a bud and roll a doob at a party someone across the room would comment about a skunk..or "somebody has some Killer Green Bud out". (KGB!!)

There's a clone floating around that folks are calling Wheelchair Crippler...but it isn't the same gig. You will know it ISN'T the real deal when:

(a) you see buds the size of your forearm
(b) it smells and looks like commercial AK
(c) you smoke it and DON'T see colors on the back of your eyelids :D (this is what happened to me the first time I smoked it)
(d) you don't shake your head on EVERY toke and say "Fuck this tastes/is damn GOOD" (I said it for 15 years, daily).

I'd love to source her again. Truly special stuff.

That Al Walker was started by my good friend in Nederland in 91. The seeds were given to him by Albert Walker at a show. Walker told him these seeds are from the best weed in America. There were two phenos. One made its way up to MT in around 92 93.

When I read stuff like this it makes me really want to do an accurate whack at cannabis strain history! What was that pheno in MT like? Taste?

Here is an email quote from my buddy who cracked the seeds.

"No the original always had more "dank" taste than lemony for sure. A hint of lemon perhaps bit always overpowered by a prominent dank smell/taste that extended from the back of the nostrils along to the roof of the mouth, a taste that would linger there and come forth even at the last bowlhit. There was a super stanky al that we lost early on. It's good to see that the name held, in honor of albert walker. He did bring this strain to us and I'm glad it still sports his name. Culture lives on, indeed".​

So you're saying that even though Nev lost his cut, Jim Ortega and Dr. Greenthumb still hold it? From what I can recall it is extinct from their gardens. I know for sure Nev lost his cut, but did they preserve it elsewhere (Jim Or Dr. G)? I know you may not know for sure but this is sounds like rumor (not saying you're spreading rumor, you may actually believe it to be true) just to try and keep Dr. Greenthumb's legitmacy to me.

I love this kind of shit , cannabis history can read it all day , thou alot of what is spoken about is prob something with several names its still cool interesting shit....and like Sava said a book of cannabis knowledge (strain wise) would be hella cool just would need someone who has been in the game along time to put it down as accurately as possible.... who is the longest breeding breeder out there .....Nevile - Shanti ? I know i have read that Shanti stated he has something like 42 female/male plants that can make any strain out there ? thoughts .....

Honestly we would need a mix of old breeders/smokers/dealers in Holland, California, WA, OR, MT, Indiana, Ohio, NY, Vancouver, Switzerland, Liquiti Island, Montreal, Colorado, and Afghanistan to begin the quest I think.

Very special island in Canada, lots of amazing strains/growers/breeders. Hard to find even on a map, it was extremely difficult to find before 2000 and the onset of the net.

Most Euphoric high: 2000 Blueberry (Seattle area + Vancouver, B.c.) This was amazing and although I remember 2 distinctly different batches both had the most amazing blueberry flavor along with the most enjoyable and happy high. Very amazing to say the least.

Stoniest: 1997 some silver strain out of SanDiego that was just unreal! I seriously felt like I was tripping on something else. It was ridiculous and I have never seen anything even close since.

I have been misspelling shit left and right lately, must be this last harvest of diesel....hahaha!

I knew some people that used to spend the summers up in Lasqueti and although I never made it that far I was fortunate enough to be able to smoke some amazing product from there.

I assume you are either from Vancouver or very familiar with it, have you seen any hashplant around lately? The one with little/no hair and amazing flavor.

also the NL#5 x afghan x mumbnim madness came in just under 30% maybe thats why he is concidered to be the best

The hashplant your referring to has been on the coast of vancouver for about 10 years. NO HAIRS, just gooey lime green stickyness with the flavour we ALL are looking for, that lingers on your tongue and throat for an hour after toking. I believe it originated in a small community on the larger island(vancouver island) called Youbou. I would love to get a clone....... tightly held though.
