When it comes time to establish a lighting cycle - what times are the best to start and stop (from a heat and electricity standpoint.) I would assume that you want to use the overnight hours - but on the other hand is there something to be said for letting them sleep when everything else does (does the moon affect them?) THanks in advance!

well, to try to put an answer to your question. Times all depend on your situation. I prefer to have my flowering period at night for the simple fact that it helps control temps in my chamber. In the winter my house is cold at night so the light give them some extra warmth. and in the summer hot in the day so the evenings help keep the temps down more that if I grew in the heat of the day. The sun the moon and the tides all affect a plants growth, but since indoors you kinda play God anyway I guess it doesn't make much differance

'jjb' gave you a good answer.
here in the "land of the free" we need to be concerned w/ "ir sweeps" they're done after the sun goes down.
