I have autoflowers growing outside around their 7th week from sprout. They are in 2 different mediums, in 5 gallon plants. I'm trying to decide which medium I prefer, which is yielding better results, and what I can do better.
PLANT A is in a 50/50 mix Happy Frog/Ocean Forest. Added Perlite.
Plant B is in 50/50 mix Peat Moss/Vermiculite. Added Worm Castings.
Both plants have been getting 6.5 PH faucet water that sits for at least 24 hours. But only PLANT B gets FoxFarm Big Bloom, Grow Big, and Tiger Bloom.
PLANT A has lots of yellow leaves on the bottom. I've left them there trying to follow a no-defoliation technique but I'm debating removing them. I've read the yellowing is normal at this stage but in my case, is this actually caused by a lack of nutrients? Should I start feeding now at this point.
PLANT B is dark green, maybe a little too dark green. It's much shorter, and doesn't have the branches that A does. However the buds are bigger and better looking. Leaves are lavish and rich, no sign of yellowing. I didn't start the nutes until week 3 or maybe 4 so I wonder if that stunted it's growth.
