So I’m starting to get an infestation of white flies on and around my girls. Were on weeks 1-4 of flowering. Can I use a diluted neem spray (fungicide 3) on them to help during flowering or what would you recommend? Trying to handle them before they get out of hand.

Never use neem oil on a flowering plant

Your buds will immediately be horrible bitter unsmokable trash suitable only for hashish at best (don't ask me how I know😭)
Thank you, I’m glad I didn’t. Do you have any suggestions? Just shake the plants as often as possible? Should I spray the plants around them with neem?

I'm not the best person to ask cuz I grow indoors, but I do know you must never spray neem oil on a flowering plant!

I would search 'cannabis whiteflies' for ways to treat it

Best using a repellant on flowers outdoors, something like garlic and peppermint oil spray. The oils will disperse and wont taint the buds.

Agreed use other essential oils that are not neem. Orange and rosemary are some more good ones. Sns 209 is a good rosemary concentrate.

The stuff stinks for weeks on the leaves.I can't imagine it on buds. Indoors I use fans and sticky tape, fans right over the top of the pots and sticky tape hanging near by. If you have the weather for it you could use fans as well.

the fans would help keep the white flies off them? Any worries about if the fan would burn them? They are pretty protected from wind with the cover crops I have going.. sweet potatoes, tomato’s and cucumbers. Kinda wish I set things up differently in a lot of ways but this will at the least be a great learning experience.

So just take garlic or peppermint oil and spray everywhere on them? Is that safe to use up to harvest? I plan on “washing” all my buds after I cut them.

Do you think I should spray the sweet potato vines and tomato plants with the diluted neem to at least make them a non food source or could it make things worse?

thanks for the help guys. All appreciated

Dilute 10-15 drops of essential oils in a liter of hot water in a spray bottle with a few drops of unscented dish soap and shake the snot out of it to emulsify it. Spray the plants down good, safe to use up to 2 weeks from harvest.

You could treat the other plants, or leave them as bait for the bugs to keep them away from the pot plants. If you do spray them though I'd use the same spray you use on the weed.

I was using rosemary & lemon essential oils on the spider mites and it didn't do anything. The water blasted them off but they kept returning because of their eggs. The neem oil killed them on contact and the second dose eliminated them eggs and all.

I was using 15 - 20 drops per liter of essential oils with the neem oil I used 8 - 9 ml per liter, way more oil than the 15 drops of essential oils. I'm not sure if increasing the amount of essential oils would work or not but 8 ml must be 100X more than 15 drops and it killed them fast.

The sns 209 recommends a higher dosage also. It has rosemary extract in addition to rosemary oil, and the emulsifier is soap-nut extract.

I was reading the other day that a mixture of 9 parts water and 1 part milk will kill off soft bodied bugs because they don't a have a pancreas or something to process off the sugars or proteins and will kill them. Also kills powdery mold and can be used throughout every stage of growing. If I find the article I'll post it.

Here it is. Interesting read!

How often should I be spraying my girls with this? I just got the oil. Also, would I do it in the morning or before dark?

I'd do in the morning before sunrise. Every other dy for a week, then every few days for another week.

This has 100% worked to kill them. Only keeps them off of it a little bit tho.

Noticed hairs turning orange early.. is that to be expected with this treatment? Nothing to worry bout right?
