Who are the bay areas best glass blowers?

I really really really really LOVE HomeBlown Glass, they have a shop here in Santa Cruz where I live now, but they're flagship store and glass blowing center is more north in Santa Rosa Ca. Everything is hand blown, and it looks just like'a RooR, Illadelph, what-ever. I have a 2ft beaker bottom. Nice and clean, not very pretty, but man does she rip clean and steady.

Draws like a god damn pencil! Heres a quick pic of my HBG...brand new, and then first HUGE mondo rip. .3 to my face.

Long story short I love this company! The first water pipe I hit was an HBG, and oh did I mention that only cost me 120 out the door? Close to 9mm thick all around? Fucking SIIIIIIIIICKKKK

It looks very sturdy and thick. I love 9mm glass.

All you need is a sick inline perc ashcatcher for that piece. Maybe a golden Chalice!

Yup! You should see what you can get for like 300 at their shops man, two 12arm shaft percs, shower head style downtubes that fucking KILL. They have some GOOD shit, and most if not ALL is handblown in the store or at the other store up north! Good shit, good company!


Glad you like it man, being a college student I strive on my ability to spend low amounts of money and get the best quality everything! Hahah.

Oh and did i mention they do repairs and custom work? Same day? Your name, anything you could think of. They can start from scratch or add to current works.

I also got a HBG 18?16? perc on the bottom and top perc is 10-14 perc for about 280 .. the Dome/top of the perc is colored black too.. sicc peice at a very cheap price.

ogplat.. do you know were the shop is at? I would love to go to a shop opposed to going to a headshop.

you want some fucking SICK glass for a killer price check out Revere Glass in berkeley. they are killing it with their micros and minis. its where i started to learn how to lampwork, im gonna be picking up one of their micros DI real soon.

i know migrant glass and mobius glass are from the bay.
big als in berekely is a sick headshop. the cave in san mateo is even sicker with a HUGE selection.

what are you looking for? there are tons of sick blowers here though the best are gonna be pricey and some dont do customs.

Homeblown Glass originated in Santa Rosa CA where their flag ship store is located. SR is not twenty mins from my hometown. So i've been there many times.

They also have a smaller BRANCH in Santa Cruz, they are not based out of here. They get ALL their pieces in their store from the Santa Rosa blowers.


Id be interested to know why you arent a fan, york. They have amazing glass, at MANY price points. And its all blown before your eyes (if you go to the SR shop).....And my waterpipe should not be a judge of their skill. Some of their art work pieces in their flagship store are HUGE (4ft tall) and amazingly intricate. All talent!

you're right ive never been to their shop, im sure they have many super talented lampworkers

there are just more innovated companies out their right now who have a solid reputation... toro, sovereignty, hitman, luke wilson ect i know are all super high quality and durable. fucking jp has a paralascope to check stress in all his glass, ive seen a circ to circ toro drop a few feet and not break.
i simply just dont know enough about hbg, and until i see something really innovated and cool ill just keep looking at other glass.

I was trying to figure out what type of images I'd want and it's tough. Bob Marley, Johnny Rotten, Star Wars? I dunno, sexy Medusa's pretty effin hot.
