Who crushes stems? And what’s advantage or disadvantages

I saw something on this on Mr grow it’s YouTube page. I did it on a nice one I grew outside and didn’t need to tie it up when buds got heavy. The stems were strong.

Yeah, twisting left and right til the stem pops. Seems to work.
