uhm, obs, jj-nyc, karma, jlp, gooeybreeder, mandala, shanti , neville, billygoat, sam the skunkman, medic, outlaw, green lantern, cabin fever, raskal, rezdog, gratefulh3ad, h&l, loompa, mota, bodhi, suge, orgnkid ect. there's like all i can think of i kno there's more. not saying they the best as genetics are way to complex to completely manipulate but i'd def pop seeds these cats produced early. octomom got a gang a little fukrs world better watch out. the octo mom crips lol. man i hate tv for making americans all fucked up.

lse started even the breeders like Neville. Hell the Dutch weed didn't become famous til they started importing strains from the west coast and they still doing it to this day.
I've smoked weed from people I taught to grow and they're not "breeders" and they used a limited selection like 20 beans or less and that shit killed weed from plants that took 100s of plants and many years to produce, besides to me a true breeder makes IBLs not just F-1s or fems, hell anyone can do that, if you can't make a true breeding strain IMO you're not a breeder.....sorry!

i say that is in the eye of the beholder, its like asking one person what is the best sports car and buying that said car off his opinion, like goat said yes there is hoarding mostly the older cats holding onto years of work so it dont get watered down or market flooded, i have never seen a livley bunch of breeders like we have here, i bet if everyone had the room and time and money no one could claim the crown for the best as there are so many superior strains out here

I thought about this.... because lately it's been shown more and more that people just take elite cuts ( which means selecting the mother is already done by the original breeder one is knocking off) and cross them and backcross them in small populations. The work is already done, so it's not like old school breeders. A few of us have decided to do that ourselves , since it's easy enough.

The list of breeders who do the following is short:

1.Grow large populations of plants for selection ( hundreds)
2.Are transparent about their grow methods ( showing the process they are using is not something you could do in a tent at home)
3. Are honest about the genetics they used and the amount of time they spent stabilizing or getting the qualities they want.
4. Create something original or another version of an earlier strain.

That ones I know are DJ Short, Chimera, Sannie, Shantibaba.

There may be others, but they neither discuss nor show their methods. There was a breeder called Elite a few years back whose whole grow op was a few tents in a living room. He just crossed males to "elite " cuts and sold them for top dollar. I think most breeder are doing that rather than doing it the old school way.

Ive been growing since the early 80s Joker and still have beans from then, and will be going through some here shortly looking for the old school se tx skunk we use to run here.I like making my own original beans.But i hear ya, the work imho,is finding strains, and then working them.I think anybody can take somebody elses work and just keep breading from it, if they have half a brain. :banana1sv6: peace,fuzzy

Yes, I remember those catz. I was around back in those days and was at Cannabis World and Overgrow. I remember Vic and Nebu well. Lot's of good breeders out there. I just think between Neville and Shanti. Those two got it nailed down. Shanti has a degree in plants, so he knows his shit.
