Why Are My Seedlings Stressed

19 days above soil. Feminized photoperiods in Happy Frog soil at 75F 75%rh. 18/6 light at 250ppfd 18” away. Clay starter pots. Watered every few days when soil is dry

I would take a guess at overwatered, it took me 2 years to realise just having water there will do more harm, and stunt the rootball...theres only a small root there at the moment so that water you put in can just collect at the bottom....ive had plants like that and i left them for nearly 2 weeks and only watered from the bottom ..i also would give them a foliar feed of rootjuice or clonex,

In my experience when i use soil in clay starter pots, they are a bit different to water.
It's like the clay steal some of the water.
It's like suddenly the soil is dry and then watering gets more difficult for me.
The water can run through the top soil and to the bottom making the soil uneven moist if i don't give me really good time to water.
How i grow is i aim to keep the soil as even moist a possible and preventing them being heavy in the bottom.
It makes my watering more easy.
Just how i do.

And i think we maybe just maybe, again have a case of over/under watering. Too dry top half and too wet bottom, but you can feel if that's the case by lifting the pot.
And of course you can also feel if the top soil is moist, then just forget what i said.

So I took it out of clay pot to transfer to a solo cup. Soil was bone dry even after a generous watering Friday night. Weird

Yeah i don't find them easy too.
I feel i got to pay much more attention when i start in clay pots.
I guess you made some holes in the bottom of the solo cup.

Yea, will never use clay pots to start again. Has been a nightmare with my other seedlings too, but they grew much more before I ran into issues

Yeah as long as you can keep the soil moist the clay pots are actually good.
But maybe not for starter pot. I used a lid to slow down the evaporation a bit.
I don't think i'm gonna use them again because i got some other now.
