I have germinated seeds recently and got a really good success rate, but 3-5 days after showing they are starting to yellow and looking progressively worse. They are 18" under 8bulb and 6 bulb T5s, temps are round 80-85 with RH hovering around 50%-60%. They were sprouted in Dixie cups full of Happy Frog soil.

Can this be caused by oversaturation? Is the light too intense for them? Could it be a PH problem (I think PH has been around 7.0)?

Seeds are a new experience for me, any input would be appreciated and if I can disclose any more info that would be helpful please let me know.

I'm trying to upload pics, but using phone with bad reception. Will post pics ASAP.

Thanks guys

How many watts of light ? 14 bulbs of t5? How many seedlings?
Your watering with what?
It's most likely light bleaching. But it could be nute burn, overwatering or bad Ph.
Light Warrior is a better soil for seedlings. If using happy frog or ocean Forrest with seeds it's a good idea to mix the soil 50/50 with perlite to cool the mixture down.
Best of luck. Peace

Are they seeds from a breeder or just some random bag seeds
I had a bunch of bag seeds given to me
popped the biggest, darkest ones first and had luck with them, but now the pickens are slim and I'm having the same problem. Waiting on some real seeds now which I'm kicking myself in the ass for ordering so late in the year. Oh well, another lesson learned.
Best of luck

Lotsa of seeds, lotsa lights (see pic). Watering without PH'ing, thinking it's around 7.0. Seeds are from a seed co.

What is proper ph for seedlings? Also what's their desired atmosphere?

Thanks guys

6.0 works well for me. Also i found solo cups to be a lil too big. Medium stays wet too long.

No offense but if your just now figuring out ph and temp now you've got a lot of catching up to do
I started off the same way so I'm really not judging
Certainly not on the same scale as you though

he makes a good point. I mean why go thru all that work and not bother to adjust ph?

I know, I know. It's not my baby, just an employee. Wish we got room dialed before planting, now having to work around all these seedlings.

I'm pretty sure that it's gotta be the temps, had thermometers, but don't think they're reliable. Trying to cool off a bit. Any suggestions on keeping em going?

Looks like the one you posted close ups of are not gonna make it. I hope those are the worst ones Thats a big job go be asking late questions

a seed has enough food built in to get farther than what your pics show. you have put them into a bowl of food, when it doesn't need it yet, so it suffers like that as a result. try a seed in some regular old dirt next time, the more bereft of nutes the better

Wow! Man oh'man them sure are alot of pong drinkin cups! Y'all Jus jumpin on in with both feet now aren't ya? Do Wat ol'boy @Growin Grass says now an READ! Im not talkin a pamphlet or two sittin next ta tha toilet fer when ya killin time. Study em'girls! Learn their lingo. They'll tell Ya Wat's wrong. That one in tha pic says "Dad I made it! I'm dying daddy but I made it through." bout ready ta cry fer tha Lil'lass. She's way too hot. That there soil is bout a point to high on tha acid side of things. How bout you try a big old glass of that stuff that come out yer car's batry? Well hell it looks like water... So it must be water. Drink on up now. Wat's your K temp? Bout 6200?-7000? Bet that lights giving them tap roots a suntan. Warm em up a tad. Bring it ta 4-5000K. When them roots gain ground then knock it inta veg mode with tha cooler K temps. Git yer ambient air temp jus above or around 70ish. Mid ta upper 60s in lights out time. Wat's yer light cycle set at? Don't say 24/0. They need sleep fer a Lil while. A couple hours at least. Push air through that concrete oasis Ya got'em in also. Try startin em out in blank soil. No nutes. I use peat Moss. Others use coco fiber or tha like. Like @coloradoBTC said theys a swimmin in food they ain't even cut their first tooths yet.
Screwin shit up is part of learnin Wat NOT ta do. I'm king when it comes ta fuggin shit up. Trust me. And tha thing is, I'm still fuggin shit up. Matter fact I think i'm used ta it now. Wouldn't know what ta do if ol'Murphy wasn't hangin over my shoulder all tha time. You'll git'er finger'd out thar ol'boy Jus takes time. Be blessed, An may tha forces of evil become confused on tha way ta yer grow.

100% for sure not too much light. You can germ seeds under 1000's or natural sunlight, not too much light for sure.

Not temps either. I have seeds pop up on their own in March when the temps are still freezing, or in August when the temps are 100+.

I believe your problem is your soil. Seeds can handle full strength soil, but it appears you are going through lock out. For seeds try light warrior instead.

Wish you luck.
