Why PPM?

Im going nuts trying to figure out this tri meter ppm setting, which one of the conversions do I use for canna nutes?If I remember right on the back of the jug it says a ec of 1. Help , i see what everyone is saying about ppm, to many options, if everyone just used ec there wouldent be all the confusion.

hey friends. I got a question. Some good friend told me plants can't absorb more than 1.6 ec. Some people here give their plants like 3.0 ec (2000~ppm). Don't remember exactly who wrote that, but i'm sure it was a breeder here. Now after reading that thread, i really don't know if i need that fuckin ec or i go straigh with ml when mixing.
