Wierd smell... need help.

Welll I have been topfeeding my buckets until the roots come through and today I have seen one poke out on my kings kush. However on all the buckets they are starting to smell. The smell is like the one from the ride at Disneyland... the pirates of the Carabian. Musky type smell. I have not been draining the bucks as I wanted to have a little bit of moisture in order not to dry out the roots but that may have been a bad idea. The plants look pretty good. The only thing is that the first leaf set that they ever recieved are drooping a little.

I have mixed a 1:1 watter peroxide mix and poored it out towards the rim to hopefull kill what is making the smell.

Any ideas and suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Would you say it smells like an old or well established aquarium? If so, I would suggest that perhaps your nitrifyers have set up shop.

That is exactly the smell seamaiden... is that a bad thing?

Not in my world, it's one of my favorite smells. I don't know if it indicates anything's going "wrong" per se, but that's what I think it might be. The H2O2 should have killed most of them off.
