Will Copper Hurt My Seedlings?

I was handling one of my seedlings and accidentally super cropped the main stem, so to support it I inserted a piece of copper wire into my soil and bent it around the stem. So I guess my question is will the copper poison my baby?

I dont think ot will but i bet someones gonna have something bad to say aboit it. U can always use something else to be sure. A garbage tie for example.

Ok thanks, I just used the wire as a quick fix, as soon as I can I will switch to something a little less iffy.
