Hi,
I have 8 plants, each in 4 gallon pots, I want a single light to hang in large tent that's for veg only (first 3-4 weeks of veg only), will something like a 300w Spider Farmer (or similar) cover these ok? Tent will be 2m x 1.5m X 1.5m high. Thank you

You have close to 32.3 square feet of floor space. A 300-watt light would provide 9.3 watts per square foot. 24 to 30 watts per square foot is about right for LED light. So, that would be 775 to 970 watts for the light. That includes flowering, however. My wild-ass guess would be to have half that for vegetation only, which would be 385 to 485 watts. So, I'd say no, that 300W light might not be enough.

Are you going to have a flowering tent to go along with the vegetation tent? If so, then I'd say get a light for vegetation. If not, then it might be best to have the versatility of light(s) that can do it all.
